Apizza Heaven, Sedona

This place is not easy to find--behind a Fed-Ex store, off the road. Nice crowd on a Friday night, though, perhaps mostly locals, since many knew each other. Very friendly, congenial atmosphere. Staff made you feel like a local, too. They had a live duo, which added to the ambience. Excellent pizza with nice, crisp, grilled crust--we had the "almost everything." Not a plush decor--but that would only add to cost. We'd go back.

Wonderful atmosphere. Fairly family friendly, though more upscale than what we expected (we have three kids ranging from 9 down to 4). We expected a pizza joint, but it is more of a full-on Italian restaurant. Pizza was good. Staff was friendly. We would certainly go again. It is on the pricey side, but most things in Sedona are.

My worst experience EVER. 1. Any question we asked about the food & how long it would take them to prepare was answerd by waiteress / owner with sarcasm. 2. She was the only one waittig on 6 other parties dinning there at the same time that we were there, so we almost got no service. 3. We had two large pizza, four soft drinks, and a glass off water. When we got the bill the total was $95 dollars and some change!!!!! We knew that each Pizza was priced at $29.00 ea. for total of $58.00. We were charged $11.00 for 4 sodas ($2.75ea.) which the price was not listed any where. Total for food and beverages = $69.00. To our suprise there was a $15.00 tip added to our bill, which when I asked her why the tip was already added to our bill, she (the owner/ witeress) said that it is an "automatic charge of 20% tip for party of five or more". We toleld her that in their menu it says "18% for party of 6 or more", and we were only five and also $15.00 is 22% of our order. To make the long story short after a long argument and proper adjustment when the bill was paid she said " YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS." "Now You Know The Rest Of The Story." GOOD DAY.

My worst experience EVER.

I HAVE BEEN TO APIZZA HEAVEN OVER 45 TIMES(OVER 10 YRS), I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED WRONGLY OR BADLY ,(REF. READ NOAHS APPRENTICE REVIEW) EVERY ONE WAS QUICK TO GET MY ORDERS AND PLEASED ME ANYWAY THEY COULD . THE PIZZA IS FANTASTIC , THE MUSSELS ARE TO DYE FOR. I HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING WRONG AT ALL. I LOOK FORWARD EVERY TIME I GO TO SEDONA TO EAT THERE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND APIZZA HEAVEN, ALSO IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A FAST PLACE TO EAT INSTEAD OF ENJOYNG A FINE MEAL GO TO PIZZA HUT OR Mc DONALDS. Wanting to have the finest pizza in Sedona, as other reviewers described Apizza Heaven's fare, we made reservations and headed down from our hotel on Airport Mesa for a fine Italian dinner. We were seated immediately--about the only thing that went right tonight. I wanted a small pizza for an appetizer, and was going to follow it up with an entree. The waitress came back and told me that they don't do pizza's as an appetizer. The pizza would take 30 minutes. A family was then seated next to us. I asked how long for Chicken Parm. She told me twenty minutes. The family was served bread and their salads. Ten minutes later, I grabbed a waiter and asked for our bread. Twenty minutes after the family was seated, they had their pizza. Forty minutes after we were seated, I asked for the manager, as our food hadn't come out yet. I pointed out that I could have had my pizza, which the waitress talked me out of. The manager was trying to make it right--I told her that all I wanted was my food. My food was served 5 minutes before my wife's, and it came out with a very hot dish, but cold chicken. I complained that the chicken was cold, and the manager called the owner over to us. He started yelling at me that he doesn't do pizza appetizers. He wouldn't listen to my complaint, and cursed me out with the F word. We walked out. We are here as part of a large group that often comes to Sedona for many different seminars. I warn others from this group to stay away from Apizza Heaven.

This restaurant is close to my families home and they are regulars here. So on our visit it was natural for them to include us on one of their visits. The food was good and we enjoyed the local folks.

Have tried all the pizza houses in town, and as a gourmet cook myself, have found Pizza Heaven to have great crust (homemade), fresh grilled vegetables, fresh meats and sauce. After being referred to more popular places in town, I found this place to have far superior pizza and food, and better atmosphere. The "Almost Everything" Pizza is a must for those that want a meal-in-one pizza. Indoor and patio dining. Nice ambience and a true Italian villa feel.
