Tacked onto the White House Inn in West Sedona, this tiny place offers nutritious and natural cuisine. Secure one of the counter seats, or one of the few tables in the pastel painted dining room. The Pad Thai noodles with chicken and veggies are popular, and pleasing curries (available with chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu) are also available. The Vegetable Lovers section features a macrobiotic platter specially prepared at your request a day ahead of time by Pearl who studied at The Vega Institute. Menu items are priced from $3.50-12.95, with Thai teas and soft drinks $1-$2.
Used to be great. Now, it's just average.
The wait staff is so angry and indifferent these days. I have eaten here a dozen times over the past 4 years.
I ordered veggie soup. It arrived twice with meat in it. The third time they just picked the meat out and brought it back to me.
I tip fat and always bend over backward to be nice to wait staff. Afterall, they are serving ME. I have to say that I am done with this little place. Farewell...
I went here with most of my family, and we were all extremely impressed. The restaurant isn't very big, and is easy to miss. However, it's definitely worthwhile. The service was excellent; our waiter was very friendly and never left us needing anything. The food didn't take long to get to us. The portions were huge for the prices, and it was absolutely by far the best Thai food I've ever had(and I've had quite a lot). It was flavorful, fresh, and authentic. I will definitely go back. Perhaps the people leaving bad reviews were in a different restaurant... We interacted with several of the wait staff and they were all very helpful, friendly and polite. Just absolutely fantastic.
One of the worst thai place I have ever visited. First it took 40 minutes to get a table because only 1 server was working. We ordered 3 different Thai dishes and a soup. It didn't look and taste like Tom Yum soup at all. All the dishes were made of same curry although the dishes we ordered were totally different and all of them were really bad example of Thai food. Service was horrible. I would not suggest anyone to go there. Be Careful....
I'm sure the ecletic staff at Thai Spices would be pretty bummed to know their little secret is getting let out, but the world has to know - it's one of the best restaurants in Sedona, hands down. We headed to Thai Spices to save a little money for the big spends on the weekend nights, and we never ate a meal that compared to this for the rest of the trip. In fact, we cancelled our Saturday reservation for another highly-recommended (pricey) place to go back, and loaded up on some of the best Thai we'd ever had. Having been to Thailand, and having eaten Thai all up and down the west coast of the US, we know our stuff. The fresh ingredients, playful combinations, healthy portions and reasonable price make this a MUST for your Sedona visit. Sorry, Thai Spices, your locals-only vibe is about to meet the tourist train!
PS - loved the piped-in music
The food was cold. I had to wait an additional 20minutes, my guest was finished eating by the time I was served. When I mentioned this to the Manager he suggested we tip better! Correct me if I am wrong, in the USA we tip for good service! My experience was that the resturant does not care about the customer! They depend on the tourist! My advise, stay away!
I agree with Wilbur, used to be great, now just average. We are locals, and haven't been there in 2 years. No future plans either. We go to Thai Palace in Old Town Cottonwood. An easy 4 stars and always consistant. Sedona is pretty, but definitely not known for great food...or even good food.
