The food was nothing for the price. The meat, which the palace is known for, was laughable, full of fat and tastless. The waitress was nice and apologetic for the horrible food, but the experience was already ruined. Don't claim to be the most historic saloon in arizona and then serve bad food!!!!!
I am always cautious when ordering a rueben sandwich, the good ones are few and far between and the bad ones are the worst. When I questioned the waitress as to this one she quickly and without hesitation claimed it to be the best sandwich on the menu. It did not disappoint - the corned beef was tender, the sauerkraut homemade, and the light rye was toasted to perfection. Too bad I shared it with my husband - will not do that again!
Great history. A must see if your ever in Prescott. The best well liquor on Whiskey Row! Had dinner and a show there and was very happy with both.Went there for Thanksgiving dinner one year and was very disapointed with the quality of the food.
I love historic places and buildings so I really like the atmosphere of this restaurant. It is a little pricey, but the meals that I have had were worth it. I would recommend kate's chicken. My only complaint would be the service. I think it could be a lot better especially since you are paying so much.
Homey with the splendor of the old west. Personable servers, great well drinks, and alot of bang for your buck, with the catfish tostada at lunch being a winner; the ever so fresh pasta (with shrimp) for dinner. Lovely vintage photos and don't miss the Monday night dinner shows!
I've been to quiet a few saloons and for having this name... it was a pertty bad experience. Although there is a Palace Saloon in Florida that far surpassed its name. We had the best time with great music every night we went.
