Maya Restaurant, Prescott

People who don't like this place don't know real Mexican food. If you expect TexMex this isn't the place. Everything is not drowning in bland red sauce with a inch of yellow cheese on it. I have lived in Mexico and this is real Mexican food. The salsa is fabulous!! And where else can you get potato and cactus tacos?

BYOB! Just in case you are just scanning these reviews. No booze served here. They do have bottle openers and a liquor store across the street. Now onto the food. It is edible and that is about it. I have lived in the Southwest all my life so I know Mexican food. My taste buds do too and would like me to mention a severe lack of spice except for an overabundance of the mineral Salt. Lots and lots of salt. I recommend you give this one a pass.

A hidden treasure in Prescott! I live in LA, and frequently come to visit my Mom in Prescott. Maya's is a must stop for me...love the potatoe filled tacos! The food is of high quality, at a great price. If your looking for a casual, simple restaurant atmosphere with the best mexican food in town, then Maya's is the only place to be! You won't be disappointed!
