We live in Williams and Goldie's was one of our favorite places to go until it went downhill, and yes it was dirty. The owners just didn't seem to care and neither did the help. The resturant was sold last year and closed for several months. With the new owners now it it the best place in town to have breakfast!!! We only go out for breakfast so not sure about the rest of the menu.
My wife & I just stopped here for breakfast in June, 2009 on our way through the area after visiting the Grand Canyon. The staff was efficient & friendly from the young man who opened the door for us, greeted us & sat us to the waitress who served us & kept our coffee cups filled! It has a cool, retro atmosphere. The food was excellent and we both agreed that it was the BEST BREAKFAST either of us has had!!!
The new owner of Goldie's Route 66 Diner has really improved everything about the menu, the quality & quantity of the food; the service; the prices; and the appearance of the restaurant. The improved menu is great, the service was friendly and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable. It is a clean, family oriented restaurant. The Goldie's Special breakfast was hugh. We stopped for dinner later that same day. The steaks were tender, juicy and cooked properly. The seafood menu was also big. Soups and desserts were made on site. A great place to take the family, have a business meeting or a romantic dinner. Outside dining and alcholic beverages will be available soon.
New Owners took over Goldies in April 2009. The staff was friendly, the food good and reasonably priced and there was a nice variety to chose from. The only complaint I heard was that they ran out of some items because they were much busier than they had expected! It was very clean - obvious that the new owners had done lots of work because we could not imagine this was the same place the earlier reviewers visited.
We have been regular visitors here on each of our road trips thru Arizona (4). Unfortunately it has gone so far downhill all I can say is avoid it. This was the worst food we ate (or left) in 5 weeks in the US. Sorry to Joyce the waitress, but the owners need a kick up the a*** and some fly killer. Yuk.
