Tried to book

I have been trying to get a reservation at this hotel since October 29, 2011. It is now January 7, 2011 and I can't get a response back form management (need 8 rooms). I have never experienced anything like this in my travel career. Terrible, poor and bad management of this hotel. I would advise to stay away! The nice lady at the front desk recommended another hotel for me to call...ok...bad, bad business. After reading reviews I'm glad it didn't work out. Thanks everyone!

incompetent management!!
By ,
The hotel was fine, the breakfasts good, the management left a lot to be desired. After leaving the hotel my credit card was debited by approx $2000, then when the error had been realised re credited but not by the full amount, leaving me $44 in debt, BUT because of the difference in exchange rates between transactions the debt to me was approx. £115. The hotel was emailed by my Travel Company and by me but all emails have been ignored. My account was fully paid in January so there was no reason to take any money from my cedit card. Apart from this the rooms were not cleaned on two of our four day stay, when asked the room was cleaned on one of those days but reluctantly. I would not go again unless there was a change in Management. We stayed at 3 other hotels while on holiday but had no problems with any of them.

Nothing special...
By ,
I wish we had picked any other hotel in Tusayan--we picked the Holiday Inn because it is usually a safe bet, but we were very disappointed. Strange set up, tiny rooms, no fridge or microwave, really scary, outdated bathroom--we were just so not impressed. It looked more like a hotel that the HI had bought out and made their own.

Poor Management - dirty rooms
By ,
Prior to stay I had problems with our Priority Club reservation and hotel manager was never reachable to get it resolved and would not return my 3 voicemail messages I left over a period of a week and a half. I ended up resolving it with the Priority Club Customer Service department after three calls to them. When we finally stayed in the hotel, the room was disgusting....there were crumbs and cracker wrappers on the floor between the two beds so obviously the cleaning staff hadn't cleaned much. One boxspring mattress had a huge, dark stain on the side of it that looked like someone had been murdered right there. Seriously, to this day I cannot say for certain what it actually was....I did take a picture to document it. It was so disturbing to my 10-yr old son he actually had a nightmare that night (which he did not do any other night during our vacation at our other hotels). It was a horrible experience and I still feel bad I made my children stay there for even just one night. If this is the treatment and consideration given to top level Priority Club members, I'd hate to think what the rest of the guests encounter. My final words: I will never stay there again.....the only thing this place has going for it is it's location.

I've stayed some awful properties before, but this one takes the award for the worse. First, the front desk people were not friendly checking in or out. Coming into the room for the first time, the air conditioner was running on full and the room was cold. Speaking of cold, that's all the water we had. COLD. We let them know about it, they didn't seem to care. Small TV, comfortable beds, clean room, expensive. Breakfast was nasty. Powdered eggs with cheese. YUCK! They don't make the food on the premises. We skipped the breakfast the second day and went to Mc Donalds. On checkout, they had a tour bus park right behind us so we could get out. The front desk told the bus driver that it was the only place they could load their passengers. We were trying to make the IMAX movie. Horrible place to stay.

perfect
By ,
We liked the fact that it is 20mns away from the rim without paying as much as oher hotels that are closer. Breakfast was hot with lots of variety and plenty of it.Service was perfect, fast and rooms are clean as expected with Holiday inn. The only thing that I did not like is the small indoor pool which is hot, humid and smelly. Since the G.C can be seen in one entire day included with a helicopter ride it is better to drive back to Williams or Flagstaff if you don't want to pay so much.

TERRIBLE!!!!
By ,
I am at the Grand Canyon at least twice a year on business...everytime that I have ever gone to the Grand Canyon I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. I must say that their staff and entire hotel has down-graded since the last time I stayed. The desk clerks were extremely rude, unprofessional, and didn't know their hand from the computer in front of them. The person that I was told is the General Manager who used to be a nice young man has changed to a shrivled up prune of a hag who's behavior represented that of the desk clerks. There was only one person in that entire hotel that was nice to me in the duration of my stay he was a tall, blonde gentleman who looked like the maintanence man, which was the only thing impressive about this establishment was that gentleman and the cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel itself. I will be sending this as an email to the hotel administration in hopes that maybe they will return to being the welcoming smooth-run hotel that I had always known them to be.

What a Surprise!
By ,
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express while visiting the Grand Canyon last spring and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were great. Very clean. The breakfast was very good and plenty of it even though the hotel was full. Great location! Would definitely visit again. Highly recommend it.

WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK
By ,
Having read the reviews about this hotel, I have some observations........ First, this is a very nice hotel, convenienlty located near the south rim of the CANYON. The price is reasonable, and the staff is friendly (although I have yet to locate the $66 room advertised on the web). The criticisms I have seen regarding the service seem unwarranted, but I have only stayed here once. During our stay, we found the staff to be friendly and professional. Frankly, I do not understand some of the complaints I have read. I suggest the reader consider the context(and the grammar) of the complainants when considering booking this establishment. My family and I were quite satisfied with the value.
