From its lacy cafe curtains to its country furnishings and accessories, this little Flagstaff gem is warm and welcoming. Maybe that's why it's one of the city's favorite breakfast and lunch spots. Be ready for a bit of a wait; this place is always busy. Owners Ed and Brandy Wojciak serve up everything from inventive egg dishes (including trout and eggs and nine variations on Eggs Benedict) to specialty sandwiches, quiches, salads and burgers. Prices run from about USD5-8 for most items. A daily lunch special offers a classic sandwich and cup of soup. You'll also enjoy the Wojciak's east side restaurant, Brandy's.
Loved it!! Loved the array of Eggs Benedict on the menu. I had the salmon and cream cheese, and it was fantastic.
The place itself is somewhere between a restaurant and a diner. It's not a whole-in-the-wall diner, but it's certainly a very casual restaurant. Check it out when your in town. I'm sure their lunch and dinner are equally fantastic.
Ever since leaving Flagstaff in 1984, we have never found a breakfast restaurant that can hold a candle to La Bellavia!! We are back at least once a year and our meals and experience there never dissappoints us!! Always wonderful! I recommend La Bellavia to everyone!!
Today, I had a terrible lunch at La Bellavia. I used to frequent this breakfast/lunch joint (spent 9 years in Flagstaff). But, something has happened to a place I once picked to go. I have not been in over 2 years, but today I tagged along with a few friends destined for La Bellavia. Not one of us was satisfied with our choices nor is my stomach feeling all that well 2 hours later. My girlfriend is currently in bed with a headache and stomach pain. Stay away from what once was a mainstay.
It is one of the places I truly miss, now that I've moved back to Alabama. La Bellavia is Flagstaff, plain and simple. It is unique, friendly, and a place you cannot forget--even when you move hundreds of mile back East. I miss the many breakfasts I ate there, the dozens of ways they cooked eggs, the college students that gave fantastic service, and I miss the local art work on the walls. One cannot visit Flagstaff without eating at least one breakfast there.
