This is by far my Favorite Chinese food of all time! The Mongolian beef is amazing, and the noodles are still crunchy which is important! Their Veggi Chicken sweet and sour, was the best vegetarian food I have ever tasted, tasted just like chicken! I was very impressed. Sometimes the service is a little slow or grumpy, which could just be culturally misinterpreted, but over all it's my favorite!
First, I have to thank Guilin Healthy Chinese for doing what they do. I was greeted both on the phone and in person with friendly service. They made me feel at home. Second, their menu. Google it. Long have I searched for a truly vegan friendly Chinese Restaurant. Found. These folks also give out a free order of (veg) egg rolls for any order over $10.
This first review is going to be on the first meal. More will follow.
When I was a meat eater I fell in love with General Tso's Chicken. When I saw that I could get a vegetarian substitute from Guilin I was sold. Was it the best I've ever had? - no. But it was awesome nonetheless. The dish also came with perfectly steam cooked broccoli. We then ordered the Buddhist Feast, and it was one of the best flavored dishes I have ever eaten. A++.
Thank you Guilin Healthy Chinese. I'll be back soon for my required Szechuan Tofu.
We used to eat here frequently, and it used to be very good, but the food quality has gone downhill lately, and after three bad meals in a row, we decided not to go there again. This is such as a shame, as they used to be a low cost and a reliably good meal.
I think what they are doing is saving costs by reducing portion size and the number of ingredients in a meal, but if you complain they just look at you blankly, and ignore whatever you say.
I really appreciate when a restaurant caters to folks with special dietary needs. I appreciate it even more when it's delicious! I am watching my weight, and a friend of mine is a strict vegetarian, and Guilin helps us with both! I mean, let's face it, I get very tired of eating salads when I go out with friends. Guilin offers no oil cooking with their food, so I feel at ease when I want my favorite Chinese dish. My friend can choose from their great selection of tofu and meat substitute dishes. This place is great, quick, and authentic - there are really Chinese chefs in the back, and Chinese people who own the place. It's great, you don't want to miss out on this place.
This place has quality chinese food for anyone, but it's especially great for vegetarians/vegans as 2/3rds of the menu has no meat (or fake meat). This is one of my favorite places and definitely my favorite for chinese!
Major attitude from the wait staff. Food was cold and the rice was hard. Tried to order white wine with lunch and it took 10 minutes to communicate! And then they tried to bait and switch on the wine at a higher price!
Had to hear the wait staff slurp and snort while they all grouped in the window seats to have a feeding like pigs!
Strip mall at its best!
The mens restroom is a mess with the broken urinal wrapped in a mountain of trash bags, not to mention the smell!
I have to believe that friends or employees wrote the positive reviews!
Its like eating at a goodwill store.
