Yoshimatsu Healthy Japanese Eatery
Yoshimatsu uses organic tofu, carrots, natto and edamame soybeans. Many dishes contain lots of veggies. Several Japanese traditional dishes may not contain many vegetables, but weac2ll be happy to accept your adding vegetable/tofu order. We do the best to order no MSG products from distributors and we never add MSG. We are constant battle with the notion that we like to use organic & healthy food and also want to serve food affordable. We will keep trying to use organic products, when we can. Have fun & take your time eating my healthy homemade dishes in my warm home of Yoshimatsu!!
We ate here after hearing how good it was supposed to be. I was very much disappointed in the quality of the food. I have eating Japanese food for years as I lived in L.A. for 30 years where they the best Japanese food ever. Hoping it would be good since it was recommended, you can imagine our surprise after receiving our food. It was terrible to say the least & way over priced for you what you got. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant & would try any other Japanese restaurant other than this one when in Tucson.
We've been looking for a good Japanese restaurant since we moved to Tucson. We've gone through about half a dozen by now and decided it doesn't exist in Tucson. Most are not even Japanese owned/operated. Yoshimatsu looked promising, but I looked into their website and I can't go here. To the person who received bad service, I don't know how old your daughter is, but their website indicates they do not appreciate the business of customers who bring children. My children love Japanese food, but I will respect their wishes and take my business elsewhere.
My daughter and I went in to have an enjoyable meal and had to ask the cashier about the menu items; since there was no one at the front. We ordered our food after she explained the menu items and then told us to find a table. We found a table but it was dirty so I asked this waiter/busboy who passed by us while we were standing if he can please clean the table for us. He responded angrily and said that since he is the only person there that he will clean it when he finds the time!! I was very irate after hearing his remark and went back to the cashier and demanded our money back. She apologized and my money was refunded; she had to cancel our order (#7). I will never eat there nor recommend any one to eat there with such poor service!!!!
It's interesting that they have these two advertisements in front of their awning proposing to be the best in town. What a laugh.
The green tea pudding in the new Sushi Matsu is the best dessert in town. The Yoshimatsu section has, over the past 3+ years, served consistently great food at affordable prices. The staff is hard working and the owners are truely dedicated to providing healthy, great-tasting, home-cooked japanese food.
