Bobo's Restaurant

Description

This centrally located eatery is an icon of Tucson's dining scene. For 39 years, Bobo's has served breakfasts and lunches in generous portions to a devoted clientele that helps spread its fame all over town. The restaurant, a clean and well-lit place, opens its doors early morning to feed early risers, and the rush builds up until the lunch crowd descends around midday. Breakfast and lunch are served any time. Try the famous egg and meat breakfast dishes, like the slab of ham or the 6-ounce top sirloin steak, to learn what a BIG American breakfast is all about.

Food was satisfying, the service spotty. We definitely got the "Never seen YOU in here before" look from patrons - it's that kind of vibe. Good home fries.

Bobo's has the best breakfast in Tucson. The custom pancakes about the best you can get and Bobo's is our family's favorite spot on Sundays before church. It gets packed very quickly so go early. The service is quick and the staff is friendly.

Just like the olden days: I remember eating here back in my college days (Mid '80s). Their special was two eggs, hash browns and toast for 39 cents. Now prices have gone up a bit but if you arrive before 8:30am(?) it costs around $1.75. Not bad at all!! The food is very good and is definately 'greasy-spoon' but if you only eat there a couple of times per week you won't clog your arteries too bad. They must go through five gallons of butter per day! They open at 5:00am and cater to the working crowd. I can never seem to get up early enough in the morning to get the $1.75 special. If you order a pancake ($4.50?) you don't need to order anything else. It will fill you up completely.

Awesome banana pancake with pecans. Best in tucson. My husband got the apple pancakes and said it was the best apple pancakes he has ever had. Both my boys loved it! they said it was the best food they ever ate and they are picky. My youngest got the choc chip pancake and my oldest got ham, eggs, and potatoes and really enjoyed it. We had a fun time sitting at the bar. Everyone was fun and friendly! Loved it!!!!!!

not clean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/10
Good portions for the price. If you are a person or couple who admires a fresh clean wait staff and restaurant cleanliness, stay away. Small space is great for smelling other's odors and hearing their coughs and nose blowing while eating your runny eggs. mMmm.

I LOVE Bobo's! I try really hard to get something new each time, so I don't miss out on any of their super yummy food! Honestly, I just can't break away from their pancakes and omelets. I have had all of each of them and nothing else on the menu. I have yet to be disappointed with any of it. They know their breakfast at Bobo's!!!

Bobo's is good for breakfast with hearty entrees and lots of side dishes full of artery attacking delicious morsels. Don't come here if you're on a diet.
