Just across Sixth Avenue, this modern, upbeat Barrio bistro serves creative contemporary cuisine in an attractive, lively atmosphere. It's a convenient dining spot when attending theater and music events or when doing business in the downtown area. It can be quite noisy here, but it's an energized, delightful din. The menu features a full range of appetizers and "little plates," salads, chicken, veal, pastas, plus daily entree specials. Full bar service is available.
With the swish decour and great food taste, value, and presentation, you'd think the Barrio Grill would have its service nailed. It doesn't. Over the past two years, I've had all, but great service there. Tucson is laid back, but that doesn't mean that service at an upscale resteraunt should be - especially because the food and environment aren't laid back. I kept coming back for the environment and value, but my last visit was my last - the service was that bad.
We thought the food ws superb. I had sea bass. The sauces were particularly good. The salads were to die for, wish I had the recepie for the dressings! The dessert was the best I've had anywhere. The chocolate custard with the caramel sauce---what is in the sauce to make it so tasty, yet not overly sweet--is it sour cream? We will come back!
