My friend and I went to this place for a unique change. The atmosphere was nice, and the pond was great for ambiance, but the silverware was dirty, the food took FOREVER to get to us, and there was hardly anyone in the place. I understand that if the place was busy the service might be slower, but we were one of three groups outside. If children are there, parents must be told by staff to keep thier kids under control. Unfortunately, now a days we have lousy parents in the USA who don't dicipline their kids and allow them to disturb others wthout a blink. The restaurnat needs to control this if the parents won't....after all, it's THEIR restuarant. The food was tasty, kind of your average mexican styled food. No spectacular, nor poor.
The atmosphere is delightful, totally unexpected cause the view from outside is unassuming. Food is 5 star, tasty delectable, rica as mexican food should be!!! Customer service is definitely at the top of the list because the waiters were right on point and extremely pleasant. Can't wait to go back!!!!!
I've been to this establishment three times and I must say that the most recent time was a huge disappointment. Many magazines, newspapers and even their Web site say that this restaurant is a great place with a romantic atmosphere. Their Web site even says that they are one of the top places to pop the question. I went there last Friday and must say this is totally wrong. Let me also say that maybe this was an atypical experience, but regardless there were things that could have been done.
A reviewer said the duck pond is great for the kids. I agree, but if bringing kids, please supervise them around the duck pond. We were there at 8 p.m. on a Friday night, and there were about 9 or 10 unsupervised kids running around yelling, screaming and climbing on the walls. These kids ranged from toddlers to young adults. Parents were not supervising them. Several kids -- the older ones, I would say in the 10 - 12 year old range, decided it would be a good time to climb over this little wall and disturb both our table and the table behind us. Even when asked politely the kid still did it and then had the nerve to yell and lie to us when we politely asked him to use the entrance rather than invading peoples' personal spaces to take a short-cut. And, in addition, this kid hit one of the person's chairs so hard that that individual jabbed herself with her fork. During this time, the wait staff was going about their job and not caring that these kids were playing tag and running through the restaurants. At one point, the kid almost ran into the waiter carrying a large tray of food.
Of course, this can happen anywhere. We will not be returning and my point just is, if you're expecting something romantic and quiet, this isn't the place. We might as well have been at an outdoor Peter Piper Pizza. But on the other hand, if you don't care about the noise or the romantic atmosphere, this place is unique. It has nice scenery and the pollo fundido is quite good.
