I was impressed with the whole scene. The food was really well prepared and tasted fantastic. The price was about what I'd expect for a menu offering of this variety. This is not an Outback or Olive Garden and yet the prices are less than you find there. I highly recommend this for you to try at least once. It is fun and there's a lot to look at and talk about.
I took my husband there for his birthday, and we were underwhelmed. For the prices we paid, the food was nothing spectacular. The service was very nice, and the patio dining was quite cozy, but the so-so food and the time it took for the food to be prepared wasn't worth the over $100 we paid for the the two of us.
Julieanna's has been inconsistant for us. We have been there and had great meals, but we have also been there when our meals were kind of average. The patio area is nice when the weather allows. The service is generally poor, and it can take a while to have your order taken or for your food to arrive. I can't give it more than 3 stars because of the inconsistancies and the poor service.
My date and I had a very nice dinner there 2 weeks ago. We read that there was Martini Mondays with a Sushi Chef. It is hard to find good Sushi around Yuma, so I was excited about it. I called yesterday (Monday) to get the times for this event and the Manager new nothing of it??? This morning I get on the computer to find out that it is advertised on the web page. I am very dissapointed....GET A NEW MANAGER!!!!!
Great ambiance. Fantastic service. Brilliant design. Excellent concept. Wonderful birds. Enthusiastic staff. Awesome bar (California wines). A fabulous place for a wedding. Acceptable cuisine. Excellent hors d'oeuvres! Truly a remarkably memorable experience.
Terrible manager however.
The food is the closest you can get to big city dinning here in Yuma. Excellent prime rib. The only negative comment I can make is that at lunch time you might have to wait an extremely long time to get your food, but the manager is very good at handling this situations. It's worth the money.
Honestly I'm not a frequent patron - prices are a bit beyond my budget (at least for dinner) and in viewing online menu it seems EVERYTHING is a la carte (which is the major complaint I've heard from others). Dinner prices are a bit higher than other 'fine dining' restaurants in Yuma. But, I've found lunch prices to be reasonable.
I did go for dinner with a friend about a month ago - the food was perfect! This is one of the few, if not the only place, in Yuma, that offers escargot, one of my favorites. Of course, I thought of scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts was eating escargot...hoping I wouldn't have same experience! The prime rib was perfect. Pinot Noir available by the glass - great because I can't drink an entire bottle by myself!
One of the mainstays is the creme brulee - which is reason enough alone to patronize this restaurant. And it's also another item I don't think any other restaurant in Yuma offers.
Didn't spend any time in the bar - headed straight out to the patio, which is a novel setting for dining. Amazing to me how few options there are for patio dining in Yuma - this is undoubtedly the best.
If there's a downside (other than the dinner prices) it's the dining hours. With the sun setting so late in the summer, it's not uncommon to not get around to even THINKING about dinner until at least 7 or 8 p.m. - and difficult to figure out where to go when so many restaurants close by 9 p.m.
We have visited Julieanna's on many trips over the past several years, always at lunch time. The experience has always been good. This evening we decided to try dinner. We were not dissapointed. The wait staff was friendly and effcient. The food was as good as any we have had in much more expencieve resaruants. The wine list, while not large, coveres the bases. The musuc was loud enough to cover noise from other tables but not so loud as to make conversation easy and pleasant. The total dinning experience was excellent.
