Gordon Biersch Brewing Company
College towns and brew pubs seem to go together, but this is one place that you don't have to be a student to enjoy. The space is large and lofty with brass tanks and copper tubing throughout the space that hardly belie its main product. The menu alongside the well-crafted beers is typically pub-grub, where you can find an assortment of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, hot-wings alongside all of the other favorites. The seafood entrees are designed to compliment the restaurant's in-house lagers, ales, porters and stouts. On Sundays during football season, the place can become quite crowded and the bar also hosts live music throughout the week. Call for more information or visit their website for more details.
Four of us went there (9/12/09) and the beer and drinks were great, the food on the other hand was terrible. My son had the meatloaf which was OK everything else was very bland. The marinara sauce was like tomato soup. Will not go back for the food, only the beer.
I went to the location over by westgate in Glendale. I had the most wonderful time. The food was great and the service always made sure we were happy. The setting was romantic and clean. I will go there again.
I just recently went to Gordon Biersch in Tempe for the first time last month. Since, have been back 8 time!!! I love there food and as far as serives it's great. I always sit at the bar though. All the bartenders are very out going with somthing interesting to talk about. I would definatly recommened this resturant!!!!!
I have gone to the Tempe location twice in the last month, May 1st and May 31st. On May 1st we had to seat our selves, then got no menues and sat at a table 5 minutes with no one even looking at us. Ofcourse the table was dirty too. I understood they were busy so I thought I would go back. Yesterday we were seated by a host and he gave us two menues. A good start. We sat out on the patio and had waiters and waitresses walking all around us. One server came up to each of the tables around us and even looked at us but did not bother to come bye. A manager even delivered food to a table and did not stop to notice we had not drinks. 15 minutes later still no attention and now drink order. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN, and good luck if you do!
waiters have such an attitude...atleast the one that server us. he could care less about the customers. no re-fills ever...took forever to order and another forver to get the food.
much better places in tempe downtown that i will rather go to than wasting my time here.
the food was good tho.
The food was ok, the service was ok, however I made a purchase for 10 dollars. I was with a party of 25, instead 500.00 was charged to my card which held up my account for 5 days. My rent was late, and the manager's explanation was : we don't do that here. I was stuck in a parking lot for five hours until someone could bring me money because they overdrew my account. I learned that in order to eat here I must have a 500.00 cash reserve. For my friends and I NO THANK YOU.
