From the moment we sat down we had exceptional service. Our drinks were brought to us in a heartbeat along with a wonderful basket of warm and delicious Italian bread. We started off with some steamed clams-which were HEAVENLY!!!! They arrived in a tasty broth with lemon and garlic and parsley. They were cooked to perfection. We also got the caprese salad which was wonderful. The vinegratte they pour over it is sooooo good! My husband ordered the seafood diavola, which was filled with seafood-no skimpy portions here!!!! The marinara was spicy and had lots of flavor. I ordered the linguine with clams in white sauce since the appetizers had me craving more! The dish came out loaded with clams... I couldn't believe how many were on there! It was so delicious. We will definitely be returning to this Italian Gem! The waiters were top notch and super attentive.
I am not the biggest Italian food fan in the world so I cannot judge as to the rating of Razzi's vs. other Italian resteraunts for pasta. However, a little known secret of Riazzi's is the Amazing quality of thier pizza. The pizza comes in an 18 inch sheet so it is square. The quality of the ingredients is top of the line and the price is beyond competitive with even the cheaper pizza chains. A large Pizza will (really) feed four and it will be under 20 bucks.
As a side note, The ambiance is fantastic. Low lighting and amazingly quite even when the resteraunt is full. The fetticini alfredo was excellent despite its lack of Overspicing.
This was a wonderful place to have a delicious meal. I highly recommend the Tomato Salad with fresh mozzarella and a lovely vinagrette. Every pasta dish we have tried has been so very good and keeps you wanting to try more. Music softly in the background, great ambiance, even coming in just before closing we didnt feel rushed at all by the expert waitstaff. Prices are okay, a little high on some items but you get what you pay for and here you get quality. They had a very nice bar area as well.
Seems like a rainy saturday is a great time to enjoy birthday dinners, as I did 01/29/2005; there were no less than 4 other birthday groups at the restaurant. Outside of not being able to use the beautiful, vine covered patio and the traditional 'birthday cheer' the food is excellent! I had excellent service, even thought I had 8 people at my table.
Riazzi's is a terrific place to unwind in a nice, relaxing atmosphere, which is even conducive to conversation! Moving on to the food and service ...excellent from cocktails & appetizers through desert. Always enjoyed great food there, my favorite dinner is: Tomato, Mozzarella & Basal Salad, Minestone Soup, Chicken Piccata, With Sauted Fresh Spinach, & Fettuccini. Oh and for desert... Their homemade Spumoni Ice Cream & Espresso!!!
I heard that riazzi's had great, authenic italian food; and I was not misguided. When the fresh, warm, tasty bread came to the table, I knew the food to follow would also be good. We started out with the steamed clams... which was the highlight of the meal, and I highly recommend it. Then I ordered the veal marsala. The veal was cooked to perfection, and the marsala sauce was rich but not too overpowering. It was very good. Along with the veal came a side of alfredo, which was also very tasty. The alfredo sauce's flavor was excellent and the pasta tasted fresh and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the seafood davolia, which was also excellent. I'm not usually a fan of marinara sauce, but riazzi's marinara pleasently surprised me. The only dissapointment was the salad. The salad was very basic. It was mainly iceburg, with a little green lettuce and a few pieces of red cabbage...no mixed greens, no other vegitables... nothing. It was bland, and drenched in ranch dressing. I passed this part of the meal, which was fine by me because the rest of the food was too much! We left the restaurant saticfied and with a full grocery sized bag of left overs! Overall, the food is great, the price is right, and the wine list isn't too shabby.
