Alberto's restaurant is expensive and the food is bland. 4 tiny meatballs in sauce was $16.95 after I asked for a side dish to taste them. We won't return - the Valley has many restaurants that are wonderful. Service was slow and we had to wait 10 minutes before anyone even showed up to acknowledge us.
We just had the pleasure of having our first dinner at Alberto in Carefree. The food was excellent -- best Italian food we've had in north Scottsdale, Carefree or Cave Creek. Alberto, the owner, was our server and offered to prepare the swordfish special any way my wife liked. This is our kind of place...good wine, great food and personalized service. We'll be back often and anyone in the area should do themselves a favor and enjoy Alberto's wonderful food and genuine hospitality.
Alberto is a rare find. It has great food and a friendly and entertaining owner who helped us navigate a wonderful menu.
The restaraunt sits on the north side of Cave Creek Road just west of Tom Darlington in Carefree. From the outside it is very downscale. But wait until you get inside. It has a pleasant Italian charm. Not a Kokopelli is sight!
Alberto himself entertained us the entire evening as he also was the waiter. His conversation is worth the price of a meal. The menu is the same one that he uses at his family's Rome Restaraunt.
If you are looking for a charming little spot with great food, this is it.
