Indian Maharaja Palace
Situated on the border of Glendale and Deer Valley, this modest restaurant is the standard for Indian cuisine. On offer are timeless meat favorites, that vie for attention among delicious vegetarian staples. Start off with fried pakoras and samosas , that lead to main course specialties like chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo. Renowned for their friendly service, Indian Maharaja Palace serves hearty portions that are fit for a king.
I am so disappointed that this is the only Indian place within 15 miles of where I live. The service was okay, but the food left much to be desired in my opinion. I've had better Indian food in Nebraska! Plus as a bonus, toward the end of the meal I found a very long hair in my meal. Needless to say that ended it for me.... I won't be back.
I took my 8 year old to expose him to Indian cuisine and he loved it. We will have to go back to get a wider selection of items from the buffet. I think they told me the buffet hours are 11am-2pm. Restrooms were clean and although the place could use new, clean carpet, the service was great. The food is authentic and is pleasing to the palette. They also see they have a full bar. I recommend the Maharaja Palace to anyone with kids but not for a first date as the atmosphere is not one bit romantic. Low key, average prices, fast and friendly service.
The food at the Palace is honestly very good. I had the lunch buffet. The selection is pretty limited, however the food offered was very fresh and tasted wonderful. The service was not good at all. I had to yell across the restaurant when ordering a beer and I had to do the same yelling to get a check at the table. The ambiance leaves much to be desired as well. Overall, I would recomend this place for some good food and a lot of privacy and I will eat there again.
I found this place by accident. It has some of the best authentic Indian food I have had since moving here from NYC. The interior of the place could use some work, but it is wonderful for takeout. Try the Chicken with Mushrooms, it is sure to please.
I would agree that ambiance is not the best...however, I LOVE this place! The service is great and the people are very nice! The food is awesome!!! I have been to a few Indian restaurants in the valley and I feel this is by far the best!! We go at least a couple times a month.
My wife and I love the food there but the ambiance is non-existant as is the service. But I go there for the taste of the food and the value. You couldn't even tell you are in an Indian Restaurant unless you saw the owner walk around with his turban. Not a date place for sure.
