The owner is a nice person, but the food (and the service) is terrible. 2 days ago, after having dinner, I got food poisoning. While eating I felt that the sushi has a bit odd taste – but at that moment I thought that perhaps it is the flavor of the “special” sushi I ordered (it was noted on the blackboard). In the evening I started feeling aches in my stomach, and had to go to the toilet often. Now, 2 days later I am feeling a bit better. From reading the previous comments I realize that this have occurred several times in the past. It is a serious matter and people need to know about that. I am planning to call the owner and let him know what have happened with a hope that others will be saved from such experience.
This is one of our office's favourite places for lunch, we go a few times a month. The fish is always fresh and well prepared, and the staff are always cheerful and friendly (if occasionally overworked). It's a small family run restaurant with a homey touch that strongly reminds me of the mom & pop sushi joints I've been to in Japan.
If you like places like Ra or Sushi Brokers, this is not your place.
If you are looking for quantity over quality, this is again not your place.
It *IS* you place if you like an authentic Japanese restaurant experience with tasty fish!
Excellent Food and Great Service!!!!
They recently added a new deal where you get a kirin beer for $3 which is great for people that love to drink. I also went there for happy hour to get 50% off on sushi which is great! but do advise that if you do sit there and order food during happy hour and then decide to get more sushi after 6 (which is when happy hour ends) it does return to full price and will be charged for that amount.
The service is horrible! The owner is nice, but if she is not there to oversee her employees, they do a horrible job! The food is slightly overpriced and the edamame portion is very small. Their miso soup is not that good, either.
STAY AWAY I was there just recently and came down with a pretty bad case of food poisoning. I was constantly on the toilet for five days and that was not pleasant. If I had to guess it was probaly the oyster suschi that was bad. Repeat STAY AWAY
I went in for happy hour (half price sushi from 5-6 pm Sun-Thurs.) and had a bad experience. After our intial order of about 40 pieces of sushi we were still hungry so we ordered an additional 10 pieces of sushi. When the bill arrived we were suprised to see that the additional 10 pieces of sushi we ordered we priced out at full price rather than the 50% off happy hour price. When we discussed this with the waiter he went and told the owner and they would not change the price. I told them I had probaly spend close to $200 in the last week at their restauant and they were being pennywise and pound foolish but they still would not adjust the bill. Just be careful and ask any questions about the price of their entrees BEFORE you order and specially during happy hour.
