Salt Cellars Lobster House
This place may be a bit hard to find, but the seafood here is hard to beat. Look for the skylight protruding from the grass at the corner of Hayden and McKellips and go on in for some of the finest coastal preparations in town. Be sure make it for their award-winning Happy Hour. A handwritten menu of the day's fresh catch including king crab, lobster, shrimp, clams, crab cakes and oysters. Owners Richard and Cindy Huie maintain the highest quality without compromising on service.
I have been to sea food resturants from San Dieago all the way to Victory Washington.
I have to say this is probly as good as they come. Loved the lobster and the sea scallops a my wifes personal favorits. Anyone who does not like this place probly does not like sea food.
Not impressed, I was told that this place was fantastic.... overpriced and just average to poor food, my husband had the lobster and steak, the lobster was rubbery and the steak was overcooked, it was very crowded in there and everything felt hurried, we will never go back, nor recommend this place to anyone......
This place is first class. Very small but high quality food. The crab was obviously flown in from Maryland and prepared farely close to Maryland Crab cake style. They over cooked it just barely on one out of two. The stuffed trout from Idaho was awesome. Make sure you squeeze the lemon on the trout. The appetizer was incredible. It was a shrimp and sauteed mushroom in a wine sauce. The sauce was so good you need to dip your bread into what's left of the sauce. This is a fine dining establishment. No they don't serve food like this at Red Lobster. This is thick fish like they just caught it and crab cakes made with only a skiff of crust on the outside. Just enough to hold in all the succulent crab. There's about one waitress or waiter per two tables. This place is a little more expensive than most other places but if you have ever had real Maryland Crab cakes than this is as close as your going to get to Maryland.
We were just at the Salt Cellar here in Scottsdale (4 persons). it was the most disgusting place we have been too. Red Lobster has more flavor and better service.. The server and Management had the we could care less about you the customer and your dining experience attitude. The water was full of chlorine and was not drinkable. The soda's were flat and tasteless. The House salads were not prepared , they were just thrown together, The Fish, Swordfish was bland and had no flavor. The Rice was something from Lean Cuisine. My Halibut was under cooked and fishy tasting. The server never asked how our meal was. She was too interested in taking care of the local's who come there often and won't complain . They charged $38.95 per item, for what? DO NOT EAT HERE!! this place gives Scottsdale a bad name for quality restaurants. AGAIN if you want real bad service and food, don't go there.. you will be so sorry you went. ANY TOURISTS FROM OUT OF STATE,, STAY AWAY FROM HERE. DON'T LISTEN TO THE LOCAL'S RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE, THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT GOOD FOOD IS.
We had a very bad experience at this place. We had ordered three sodas and we're given refills only to find that they charge for them, which is fine but there was nothing that stated they charged for refills and the server never mentioned it. We would've been more than happy to pay for the refills if someone had either told us or if it was posted on the menu. We spoke to a manager to see if he would work with us to get some of the sodas taken off. We weren't asking much we still would've payed for half or 3/4 of the soda bill but the manager was very disinterested and not helpful at all.
