It is hard for me to dislike a restaurant, but this one stands out in my mind. I didn't really like the food. The service was fine, but I just feel so odd coming here for food. I do not know what it is, but it's definitely not the atmosphere for me. Maybe someone else will like it.
My club needed a restaurant with a private room for our holiday party and we had heard good things about this place in the past. The private room was the only good thing about our experience. The waiter recommended their special margarita, which was also their highest priced. It was awful! Don't know what made it so bad but don't order it! The food was high priced and mostly terrible. They even charge you for chips & salsa. Service was abysmal, to say the least. I would never, ever, go back again.
Wow, we went there because of a really nice picture in a local magazine. Gosh, looks can be deceiving. The pork and the mashed potatoes were so dry I could hardly eat them, the veggies were cooked mushier than my Grandmother's, and the service was soooooo slow and bad. The trees in the outdoor courtyard were dying, and the dining chairs were the $9.99 version that you would buy at Wal Mart. I hope this warns some people before they believe the pretty picutre.
This was one of the worst meals I had in AZ. I could easily go back into that kitchen and teach the cooks how to do their jobs. The only explanation for how dry our meals were is that it is all prepared early and reheated before getting to the table. There is no way for this kind of money, you should be receiving reheated food. Seriously, you could get better Mexican food at Qdoba.
The margaritas were good, the tortillas they brought out were excellent. My tacos were not served on fresh taco shells. I have gotten better shells at the grocery store. I have never written a review online before, but this place is so overpriced and poor I felt compelled to reach out about it.
WOW. I thought i would be among the few to give this place a poor rating, but I see I am not alone. Because this place was reccomeneded to me by so many people, I was surprised at the way the food tasted.
I ordered a chicken dish that came with veggies. (my typical meal). The sauce on this dish was not tasty at all. i love spicy food and took the reccomendation of the server. I took 2 or 3 bites and did not eat any more of teh dish.
I did have a nice margarita there.
The outdoor seating might be nice, but it doesn't make up for that catastrophy of a meal i had there a few weeks ago. I have to give this a 2/5 because I was disappointed that my server did not offer to do anything when i told him I hated my dish. He didn't even offer and apology. LOL. So... food was bad, and service was not so hot.
the worst!: I can't believe I have to give this place 1 star to rate it. It's horrible. Our food came out cold. The time between that first entree arriving at our table and last entree was over 20 minutes! We timed it. And there was only 5 people in our group! We go out to dine together, not 20 minutes apart and on cold food. We sent the food back and asked for it to be re-made and brought out at the same time or at least within a few minutes of each other. The manager didn't like that request. He came out to our table angry. He griped about how busy they are and if we didn't like it we can leave. So we did. We were shocked. We will never go back there. Worst restaurant experience ever. And the food was ridiculously priced.
I should kick myself for not reading these reviews before going to this place! To sum it up--by far the biggest waste of time and money at any restaurant I've been to in the past 10 years. The negative stuff other reviewers wrote does not surprise me one bit. It was simply an awful experience in every way.
Likes: Only redeeming thing is the Millionare Margarita. It is the best.
Dislikes: they opened late leaving other patrons in the hot AZ sun. Service was really slow & you had to ask for water twice. Paid $100 before tip for 2 people & wait staff that could care less about us. It was the 1st time I have ever left less than 20%. Will NEVER go back! The food made me ill the next day.
