We booked a large b-day party because they said they could accommodate us. We arrived, they only had 3 people on staff for a party of 50. Service was slow, I didn't even bother to order any food. Next week I check my bank account and I'm overcharged $100 to my Visa(also incurred a overdraft fee). Called and spoke with the owner who tried to blame it on me as a tip and finally refunded the overage but would do nothing to help with the overdraft fee. Completely unacceptable. Would never go back or recommend this place to a friend or family member. Shady business owner.
Very good food. My wife and I decided to try out this restaurant a couple of months ago to try something different, and we were not disappointed. Since then we've been back once, however only because we do not live in the area. The service is fast and courteous, the atmosphere is quite comfortable, and the food is amazing. I don't remember exactly what we got the last time we went but my wife got something that I believe was made with butternut squash in a grilled green pepper, it was truly one of the best dishes I'd ever tasted, I was actually a little jealous. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the area.
Our evening at Medizona was pleasurable with prompt and attentive service, unusual and tasty appetizers and entrees, and a more than adequate wine list. This restaurant is for the adventurous, not for people who like predictable combinations and bland flavors. The decor is a work in progress. I enjoyed the rabbit and fig baklava with quail egg appetizer.
Medizona is a food diamond located in the middle of Old Scottsdale. The food is exceptional and appropriately priced for the gourmet quality you receive. The setting is romantic for those who appreciate a quiet dining experience. My wife and I found it the third day of our four day vacation and went back the fourth night. We wish we had found Medizona sooner so we'd had more nights to try all of the entrees. If you're ever in the area don't miss the opportunity to eat there. You'll not regret it.
ps Don't miss the cactus pear tiramisu-it is a sinfully good ending to a great dinner.
I was in Scottsdale from NY, and we picked this place out of a guide, called, they could take us - Amazing food. Everything was great - apps, entrees, service. I usually never believe that these are real reviews (I think the staff writes them) - but this one is!
The wait staff at this place is obnoxious and down right rude. The cost of the food is way over price. While the food is good, it all seems to blend together.
There are plenty of places you can eat besides this rat hole in scottsdale.
Just spent Saturday night there with family and friends, it was wonderful. All of us had different entrees basically, and each was different and so imaginative. Can't praise it enough.
The prickley pear tiramisu, was a delight.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wanted to experience wonderful cuisine, although the prices are high, it should be noted, that it was worth every penny.
