Carlsbad Tavern, Scottsdale

I love restos like this that s why I went here for a nice dinner with my partner.

Don't tell the tourists about this little gem, it's one of the best kept dining secrets in the area, mostly local regulars whenever I'm there. The food and atmosphere are great, very laid back, good service too. I've eaten there many times in the past 13 years, and it's one of my "go to" places when friends are in town. Never had a disappointment. I even get stuff to go sometimes, the kitchen is open late and it's right around the corner. Lucky me! Highly recommend (but don't tell the tourists!)

THE FOOD IS AMAZING SOOOO MANY DIFFERENT FLAVORS. THEY HAVE GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND AN AMAZING PATIO.

The food is excellent. It's New Mexican food (as in New Mexico) and is executed fantastically. Service is always great and friendly. And by service, I don't mean fast food fast. The pacing of the meal is just right for my idea of American standards. They have the best patio dining in Scottsdale. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The restaurant is just outside of downtown and miles away from N. Scottsdale, perfect to avoid the pretentious environments for which Scottsdale is known. The restaurant is relaxed with well executed fare. Well done Carlsbad!

I won't comment about the food, only the staff. They are NOT friendly or accommodating, and actually, downright rude. Krista isn't so awful, but Tommy used profanity with my husband, as well as a loud, angry tone. We are positive that he was intoxicated. He only asked for help, very pleasantly, I might add. I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE. Bring a Flak jacket if you do decide to go...

I really like the ambiance of this place. It is so awesome. The food was pretty good, and the service was also great. I do not judge a restaurant by only going there once, but after coming here more than once I can say that this is a good restaurant to go to.

I went here for lunch when I worked in the area. It has great food and the atmosphere is fun and different. They are quick to serve and the food is hot.

Though the description says "Mexican-style", and another reviewer says it's Mexican food, don't be fooled into thinking this is traditional Mexican food (I live in El Paso, I know Mexican food lol). It's Southwestern food that is Mexican inspired, which is a great thing because Mexican food does not have the kind of flavor that Carlsbad Tavern puts into their food. Everything we tried was great (lobster enchiladas, sirloin steak salad), and even their chicken tenders and mashed sweet-potatoes were awesome. Next time I visit Scottsdale, this is the first restaurant I will dine at.

Great food with a Mexican flavor. Service was good and friendly. Crowded on the weekends, which tells me it's good. Outside seating with entertainment was a plus.

My wife and I love going here for a drink after we get off work!!! Sometimes the service is slow, but the atmosphere is great and the people are friendly!
