Took a group there last month, very disappointed. I don t understand why this place gets high reviews. Everyone in my group complained about the food. It s covered in their barbeque sauce, a lot of people don t like sauce. You don t have a choice. Normally I love barbeque sauce, but not this stuff. It s home made and terrible. The amount and the quality of food you get is low. I expected better considering the price I paid for each ticket; 31.95. I could have gotten a better meal for less money. The entertainment is a joke. The dinner show does not take place during dinner. That s because the entertainers are in the kitchen cooking and serving food. You have to get up and get your food, they don t bring it to you. That s not good for someone who is elderly or in a wheel chair. The staff acts as if they don t care. Very rude people. The whole night I felt it was “give us your money and get out”. The stage show was a joke, poor entertainment at best. One of the members in my group started text messaging a friend, he was so bored. He said he didn t care, he needed something interesting to do. At the end of the night, I apologized to the whole group for the rotten dinner and crummy show. It was not a good way for me to earn new clients.
I haven't been to Rockin' R Ranch in over 20 years. The last time I went, there were authentic cowboys, good food and great entertainment. Nothing's changed. This time I brought my two kids and they were enthralled with the shootout, ghost rider, and wild west town. They keep asking me to go back to the “restaurant at the ranch”. The Rockin' R Wranglers were definitely a high quality entertainment group. Jim is quite the yodler, Sweet Mary sure can sing and Danny “Boy” AMAZED us with his fiddling! I can't wait to go back and bring my siblings and their families.
I was shocked dessert wasnt included in the price. My family all wanted something for dessert the only thing they had that night was ice cream and you had to pay extra for it. A real rip off! The tickets are not cheap and for that price it should include dessert. The food at Rockin R is bad, really bad. I mean really very very bad. The meat was tough and dryed out and there are only two choices. The chicken or beef is coated in bar-be-que sauce and I hate sauce. And their sauce is very very bad just like the rest of their food. It didnt bother me when they asked us to bow our heads and say grace, I'm a christian so no big deal. But it did bother me that there wasnt enough stuff to drink. And when it runs out they wont refill it so if you dont fill your glass right away you dont get anything to drink. I mean, come on, for all the money I paid and I cant get a refill? What a rip off! The floor show was boring, I found myself daydreaming and thinking about what chores I had to do when I got home. It felt like I was at some high school play, no real talent, just a bunch of boring old outdated songs. The staff was not that friendly either. After dinner some teenage girl came out on stage holding a dish of ice cream. The host then picked some girl in the audience to get free ice cream and to let the rest of us know if we wanted ice cream we would have to pay for it. After the host picked the girl, the teenager walked over to her and literally threw the dish of ice cream at her and stormed out. I think this teenager was mad because she was stuck working that night but she didnt need to take it out on this poor girl. Word of warning, the people running this place are all family and they seem to stick together like a pack of rabbid dogs. I wont be going back to the Rockin R. I wouldnt waste my money there ever again. The food was bad, the service bad, the show was bad and the total value for your money is bad. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this place a 1, a very low 1.
