Farm at South Mountain

Description

Here, the friendly staff serves up a bountiful array of farm-fresh soups, salads and over-stuffed sandwiches that you can enjoy in the peace and serenity of a shady grove of pecan trees. Great fun for the whole family! The restaurant itself is a real farm cottage; the dining room is a sprinkling of picnic tables in the pecan grove. The chef uses top quality organic produce, grown on their own farm to create flavorful, ultra-fresh soups, salads and sandwiches. Artisan breads are also baked on-premises.

A gift to Phoenicians

The Farm is great and it is only getting better and better. The people are friendly and the food is delicious. It does get busy on the weekends but that's because everyone has had the same idea I did, spend some relaxing time outside and enjoy a great meal. You have to try dinner it is magical.

Yummy Yummy

The Farm is one of those great places that is enjoyable whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner just about any day of the week. The three restaurants are all unique and offer different atmospheres and food choices. The staff are friendly. The little stores on the property are fun to look at. On Saturdays there is a small vegetable stand where volunteers sell organic produce, oils, and breads. Children seem to love running around the pecan orchards while parents chit chat across picnic benches. The Farm has been discovered so be prepared for long lines on the weekend. Also be prepared to fork over some cash. The Farm is not cheap by any means. Two people ordering drinks, sandwiches and chips should be prepared to shell out between $20 and $30 for their meal. On top of that, it takes iron will power to pass up on the wonderful dessert selection offered. Cocunut cupcakes, homeade pecan pie and chocolate cake are just a few of the tempting creations that are set out daily.

We love the Farm!!!
By ,
We go here about once a year and boy oh boy have times changed. You used to be able to go anytime and have a nice meal without the 'hurry up and wait' attitude. Now everyone and their dog goes to this oasis and ruins it for those of us who were there 'first'. It's a great place to let the kids run and play while you sit and relax with some passion fruit tea. I recommend the Red Grape and Walnut Salad or the Asian Chicken Salad. Word of advice: pack the kids a lunch. They'll be so excited to get out and run amok that they probably won't touch the lunch you buy for them.

Under a walnut tree

This place is one of the most beautiful outdoor settings I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The food is wonderful and it has a lot of room for kids to run around.

Loved it!!!!!
By ,
An absolutely wonderful, unique place for a special lunch! Went there for office birthday party--was a huge hit. A bit pricey, but after tasting the food, the money was worth it. Everyone friendly, the surroundings felt like we were back in the Midwest instead of dry, dirty Arizona. I'll definitely go back when visitors come to town.

Not What it Used to Be
By ,
The farm used to be a great place to get away/bring out-of-towners. It has gone downhill in the last couple of years. The last few times we ate there, the service was horrible and there were ants everywhere.

Country Rustic with the Freshest Foods
By ,
Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere...If I had a farm, I'd want it to look like this one. Decor is rustic country and the food is fresh and homespun. Dine outside for lunch in the shade. Salads are fresh and different. Fresh pies and cookies are available for desert. Lunch is about $10 with a drink, but well worth it!
