Farm at South Mountain

Description

Here, the friendly staff serves up a bountiful array of farm-fresh soups, salads and over-stuffed sandwiches that you can enjoy in the peace and serenity of a shady grove of pecan trees. Great fun for the whole family! The restaurant itself is a real farm cottage; the dining room is a sprinkling of picnic tables in the pecan grove. The chef uses top quality organic produce, grown on their own farm to create flavorful, ultra-fresh soups, salads and sandwiches. Artisan breads are also baked on-premises.

Pre-packaged does not equal fresh or gourmet.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/1/10
After hearing all the hype for years, I couldn't wait to take an out-of-town guest to lunch at The Farm.We were both really disappointed to find pre-packaged salads in standard combinations. Nothing looked especially fresh, and the only "local" products I was aware of there were the items they were selling from local businesses. Our salads were OK, but nothing special that you couldn't find in any airport cafe. For the price I expected A LOT more.

Great place for brunch

This is a great place for brunch. They specialize in lunch, deserts, and breads. The vegetables and herbs are grown on the premise. They also cater for weddings.

Let's Eat Out
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/08
Pick a day when the weather is nice and enjoy a basket lunch in the shade of the pecan trees. Fresh herbs and vegetables are grown on the property and served at the restaurant. The food is good. They feature homemade breads and desserts. This is a great choice for lunch.

Lovely Setting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/08
The Farm is a great place for brunch. The outdoor setting is very lovely and a quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle of busy Phoenix. The food is marvelous. I love the omelettes and tea. It's a great place for families, but also a romantic place to bring a date. It's reasonably priced and definitely a find.

An escape from the city
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/08
The Farm is such a neat place to go. The grounds are covered with Pecan trees and picnic tables. The sandwiches are really good. This is such a great place to take the kids - wide open space to run around and use their "outside voice." By December the leaves are all on the ground and my kids had the best time playing in them. A great way for kids to burn off some energy and good food!

Absolutely wonderful!!! The atmosphere is great as are the sandwiches! The chicken salad was perfect and the bread warm and crusty. The pecan bar was heavenly. Perfect lunch spot.

Lovely place to relax and eat great food. I always have a hard time deciding what to eat because everything is delicious. We enjoyed walking around the garden. Can't wait to go back.

Nice breakfast place
By -, 7/19/07
My mother-in-law took I and my husband to this place for breakfast. The have great home made muffins. You are surrounded by pecan trees and can actually buy dishes with them. A nice menu and good coffee, with free refills.
