If you are over 50 and want an average experience like you had many years ago, then this place is for you. For young urban folks who know good decor, food and service then this spot should be avoided. Nothing special. This neighborhood has 4 spots that are WAY better. Why ever have an average experience when you can enjoy yourself more elsewhere.
I've passed by this place time and time again I finally stopped in.. the minute I step up to the bar, the bartender was treated me as though I was 2 class citizen... what an ASS!
I'm from TX, but this place is far from Texas hospitality. & the patrians r snobish pompus asses too. Well the ones at the bar. I was going to order food but my appetite was ruined by the attitude.
I give this place thumbs down. unless ur a masochist & love the abuse. LOL
IF YOU LIKE PRIME RIB,THIS IS THE SPOT. I ORDERED THE SMOKED PRIME RIB,THE KING SIZE, WHAT A DELIGHT. THE FLAVOR WAS OUT OF SIGHT & THE PORTION WAS X-TREME.I ENJOYED THE SERVICE &ATMOSPHERE.COMPARED TO MOST PLACES,YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR&THEN SOME. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!!!!
I entered the restaurant on a busy weekend evening. I thought the decor was a little old but classic country. At first I thought...maybe I've found a great hidden spot... (I'm new to the valley) But I was very wrong!!! The server took 25 minutes to acknowledge us...She wasn't busy either..She was very rude..never smiled...and had the manager do most off her work..while she leaned up against the counter...I felt so uncomfortable!!! The steak was okay, nothing to go back about...I wish they would have had baked potatoes...
What a great find! The chicken fried steak is the best. A very unspectacular place from the outside. Pretty much the same inside. That's part of the great appeal of this place. This restaurant will be a regular part of our annual Spring Training trip to Phoenix.
this place is consistantly good every time, it is texas soul
food.Nothing fancy but a lot of food prepared with care and the
service people are wonderfull.
I'm retired chef,ex chef of the arizona club, and i know what i speak of,
dont expect maiseenpla, frech for everything ready before you cook, but
This place is terrible! I would never EVER eat there again. The first time I ate there, the food was cold. I gave it a second try since you can't go off the first. The second time I got FOOD POISONING! I was sick all night and had to call out of work the next day. The place seems unclean and has a tacky western feel.
