I wasn't wowed, and I wasn't sure about the meat. I definitely would not name it the best mexican restaurant in phoenix. overall i don't think i'd go back. food was also a little spicy for me. i say give it a shot, you might like it, but wasn't my cup of tea.
The chicken was dry, the machaca wasn't anything special and the beans were soupy. Everybody always raves about this place and I don't understand why. It wasn't horrible but nothing to warrant the praise everybody gives it. I won't go back.
I dont know why so many people eat here. They take bad mexican and mix it with even worse chinese food. This place has the worst food I have ever eaten.they serve such higlights as the vegatarian bowl.I small bowl of old white rice with lettuce and cheese. The only good thing are there cookies, those are actually delicious.Mr bandito you should be ashamed.
The Jerk Fried Rice is the BEST!
You have to try the JFR, the black beans, and the Jade Red Chicken. That's not hard to do when you can sample these and more as soon as you walk in the door.

The food is great-- filling out the menu for the first time is VERY complicated, but after 3 go-arounds w/ the cashiers the menu is very easy to fill out on your own. The ambiance is horrible-- dirty and crowded. The service could be much better, but I do believe they are trying to improve. I think the food is on the expensive side, especially for the portion size, and i really wish they had black bean tostadas EVERYDAY instead of just on Saturday & Sunday...Overall, the food is good. I recommend the Jade red chicken, the black bean tostadas and the Veggie Quesedilla (sp?)
