I love Glade's!!! I grew up on it and drive an hour to eat there now. The burgers are good I think because of the mayo, but the burrito and the fish are probably the best items on the menu. The footlong, taco and arctic pup are also classic favorites. The fries aren't as good as they used to be, but dip them in their white sauce (which is actually buttermilk and mayo among other things - not rotten mayo) and they're amazing!!!
We tried Glade's tonight after wanting to eat there for the last few years. We always see people waiting there and assumed the food would be awesome. What a disappointment. The onion rings were awful and greasy, the fries so-so, the cheeseburger tasted ok, but the patty was microscopic. The white sauce has no flavor. The prices were fairly high for what you get. I wouldn't eat there again.
great food, ma and pa style, cooked to order, you may have to wait ten minutes, or call it in, worth the wait, only had one wrong order in 30 years, never had bad food
Ahhh, the food.
Glades proves that the key to the success of the greasy spoon is the food. It doesn't have much to do with atmosphere or seating space. With glades, there is none. Also good fast food doesn't have to be particularly fast. Plan on waiting 15 minutes or more if you order at the window. This can be uncomfortable in the winter if you don't have a car close to sit in. But the food is the key. It's worth it.
Glades is the kind of place that has always been there and always will be. You can get almost anything there and it will be well worth it. Although some of it is greasy, I suggest a Super Cheese and a fresh lime or milkshake.
