This straightforward market and deli serves up monster panini sandwiches and foccacia rolls stacked high with combinations such as prosciutto and roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella and salami and feta cheese and tomato. The friendly management invites diners to call or fax in orders before 11am and encourages happy customers to shop the shelves of the deliciously traditional market and deli. Here, blocks of cheese crowd the deli counter, packs of frozen pastas stuff the freezer and all manner of Italian delicacies stack shelves to the ceiling.
I really don't know why everyone keeps hyping up this place I have been to two locations and on both occations I have been extreemly disapointed. I honestly would rather have some Sub Way and save some dollas.
I was amazed that they were able to charge that much for food, not to mention the huge line which honestly bewildered me after I ate. The atmosphere was good but that is about the only good thing I can say. People you can make beter sandwiches at your house with cold cuts. Jeff
Personally I don't think Granato's is worth all the hype I see comercials on tv with Frank Layten and it makes me wonder if he has even been there. You and you wallet are better off going to Caputo's or the Mediteranan market. Thanks Josh, Holliday
The locals have told me that Granato's is the place to go for a great sandwich, maybe I was going in with high hopes but it was at best mediocore. I recomend Caputos or Mediterranean Market, cheaper prices better service and food.
Sincerly Ben Goodhand
Come for Italian cold cuts, cheese, olives and sides. Best single grain pasta, canned tomatoes and anchovy in salt. Good olive oil, vinegar and frozen section. You can find additional exotics at Caputo's and Liberty, but come here first for the prices. 3 locations. Better bread at Liberty.
Sam Granato is just the nicest guy and a great business man too. He greets you when you go in the door. Food is great. Prosciuto sandwiches are my favorite. Their olives, of which you can have as many as you want, are excellent. Beverages, deserts, their deli selection, everything I can think of, just great. My mouth is watering as I write this review.
I am of Italian descent and this place and their people just make me feel at home.
Thank you Sam. I'll see you at lunch!
To die for italian style sandwiches, old fashioned italian sodas, and top shelf imported italian, greek, and mediterranean grocery items make this a real gem in a part of the country you wouldn't expect. I still find myself craving a muffeletta sandwich and a chocolate italian soda from Granato's!
Granato's makes a decent sandwich, but decent is not good enough when there are two great Italian sandwich joints in the immeadiate area (Caputo's and Grove Market).
My sandwich tasted like they just piled on a bunch of mediocre products. I guess some people like quantity over quality, but at over $7 I expected my sandwich to be near perfect.
