I went in this place back in 1984. This was when you brought your own bottle in with ya. (bad idea) Till this day I've never got so drunk in my entire life. Man, did we have fun dancing with those cowgirls
To the manager
I have been coming there for over 13 years and I still come back for the big dance floor and friends ....I would like to say that years ago when the westerner had concerts there they were really good and you could get up close to see them play. I was at the Tracy Laurence concert and with all the people standing up at the stage the only thing I saw all night was the top of his hat......Being short I couldn’t compete with all the tall people there at the stage….I tried…...I was very disappointed and so were so many other that night who came to the concert to see Tracy, most of them said they would never come back. I was disappointed after paying the price of the tickets and not see a thing.
Years ago when the westerner had concerts they use to put up small tables and chairs on the top half of the dance floor in front of the stage and put a rope dividing the dance floor in half from the right side to the left side with the other half for dancing and roped off the 2 floor entrances by the stage and for the first customers at the door got to sit into those seats. That way everyone who came to see a concert could see no matter where you sat with the people sitting at the tables on the dance floor and not standing…….The concerts then use to pack them in. I would like to see that again. I have seen so many concerts there and they were always the best except for the Tracy Laurence concert. After the concerts the artists would come over to the first bar on the south side along the wall and sign autographs have pictures taken and meet with the fans who got them where they are today….I hope that the people will start coming back in but if the concerts were like the Tracy Laurence concert you will be loosing more people who come out to enjoy and have a good time. I one concert that was the best concert at the westerner was Keith Whitley …..Saw him about a month before he died and he was awesome…..I sat at the table ten feet away from the stage. I was the first in line to talk to him and get his autograph…….he was so awesome and what a great concert…….was the best. I would like to see more concerts there and with the advertising on the radio will bring more people in and if they have a good time….they will come back.
Well just my thoughts ……….
I would like to see the Westerner got back to where it use to be, a place where people love to go dancing and enjoy.......Sandy
