I have been a patron of El Rancho Grande since 1974, when it was known as El Ranchito. Back then it was a small place which served basic fast-food fare such as hamburgers and those fabulous deep-fried hot dogs. :) Soon, they changed their menu, and shortly thereafter everyone in the neighborhood could not bear to go more than a week without their chile verde, or just plain rice and beans. It is the ultimate in this style of mexican cooking. Although it is not anyplace that Michelin would ever think of going, it still deserves a five star rating for the food. These recipes have been handed down through generations for a very good reason. DELICIOUSNESS. I love this place as home, and I have never in all my travels found anywhere like it in all the world.
