best Japanese food around! They are very nice and the place is a little hole in the wall but the food is great

This is for certain our favorite restaurant. We eat here at least once a month since we found it last fall. We've never ordered the same thing twice because we aren't afraid that the next thing will be bad. Everything is FANTASTIC! Service is decent, some times are faster than others. So far my absolute favorites are the garden vegetable sukiyaki and the tiger shrimp rolls. We have two little girls that we have taken with us everytime except once. They haven't bat an eye at it and the girls feel just as welcome as us. The kid bento box is such a large quantity of food that they are able to share one. They love using chopsticks!

I am from California. This was poorly rolled sushi. I ordered the Rock n Roll and the Avocado Roll. When I received both, every piece was falling apart! There was more rice than shrimp in the Rock n Roll. The avocado in the avocado rolls had brown spots on them! I also ordered fried rice and they didn't say they didn't have fried rice, but they brought out steamed rice and then stated they didn't have any fried rice. This was my first time trying sushi in Utah now that I live here, and now I'm scared there aren't any good places!

I often go to YAMATO to eat sushi and roll. It's very very delicious. Yamato's Sushi is the freshest and most delicious I have ever eaten. And enough cannot be said about how wonderful the staff was.they are so kind and attentive. I think Yamato is the best restaurant in Utha.

I'd give it 5 more stars if I could. This place is the Best! The sushi is the best around and I mean around. The next best thing would have to be JAPAN. The service and Everything has been stepped up with the new owner in town. I would recommend the Yamato to everyone. Great atmosphere, great people and a huge amount of food for what you pay. Not to mention the Korean BBQ WOW amazing!! I go there once every 2 weeks and I'm not planning on stopping

Yamato is a great Japanese Restaurant, they have great prices, awesome food. The only thing lacking here is slow service at times, and meals not coming at the same time! Highly Recommended otherwise!

Yamato has the Best sushi in utah county, and the very best gioza anywhere. Reasonable prices.

WOW! I am in my late 40's, so I have been eating for a long time. Unlike most Americans, I will take Sushi over pizza any time. A friend took me to Yamato Restaurant about a year ago, and now I cannot go to any other places to get sushi. There is just no comparison. Yamato's Sushi is the freshest and most delicious I have ever eaten and believe me, I know my sushi. When I asked them what their secret was Yamato’s sushi chef told me that they only use fresh fish that’s never frozen. No wonder. I guess I could try to make them myself at home, but I wouldn’t get the great friendly reception that I get from all the good folks at Yamato. I love this place!!!

I have been going to Yamato's for six years now, and its the best place for Japanese food. Clean fast service and nice people there. I love this place!!
