I ve been going to East West for what seems close to twenty years. My wife and I are regulars now, and never hesitate to take friends there. The food is always perfectly cooked, savory, delicious and made with the freshest ingredients. The service is very good to excellent consistently. The proprietors are very pleasant people. There aren t many restaurants that survive that many years while maintaining that level of quality. Also, the room s ambiance, the colors and paintings on the wall, all contribute to an overall good experience.
I'm new to Vietnamese food so I can't say anything about authenticity, however, I did think it was very tasty. We ordered the sesame beef and the 5-spice chicken. The sesame beef is served with fresh veggies and rice wraps so you make your own rolls. It was fun and delicious. We overheard the people coming in for their takeout and 4/5 had also ordered the sesame beef. The chicken was also very tasty, though not like the Chinese 5-spice that I've had in the past. We had good service too. The best place to park is the underground parking, b/c the above ground parking is always full. If you enter Foothill Village on 2300 E near Blockbuster Video go to the 2nd right which is the underground parking, then follow the signs to park near the restaurant. You have to walk up some stairs but it's not too bad.
This restaruant is located just off foothill. The interior is nice and the service is great. The appetizer was small ($5) but the entrees were BIG! we got a curry tofu ($12)and spring rolls with noodles ($9) between 3 of us and we couldn't finish it and that was even stuffing ourselves because it was so tasty. I will definitely go back and would recomend this restaurant.
