Description

This is the place to come for authentic Greek flavors. Voted No. 1 by City Weekly , locals know what they are talking about. The gyro is the most popular item on the menu, but feel free to try a shish kebab or saladnothing here will disappoint you. The price is incredible considering the size of a meal and taste. For just USD5, you can taste what people in Salt Lake are raving about. No liquor is served at this restaurant.

Good food but watch out
By ,
The food is great, but watchout. Our car got booted in their parking lot. It cost $80 to get it unlocked. They owned the lot, but refused to help get the car released. If you're really unlucky they tow it and it costs $200 to get it back.

Ok food at cheap prices
By ,
Firt the positive, the place has quick eats and is pretty cheap. After visiting the place I realised that the immense popularity this place enjoys may have something to do with its location, in close proximity to the U. The servings are pretty large too. Unfortunately I was very disappointed by this place. I went expecting a greek restaurant, but this place is more like a fast food greek place. The quality of food was not even comparable to the greek restaurants, the herb rice was soggy and tasteless. The Dolmathes had the same tasteless herb rice stuffed in them, and were drowned in olive oil. The pita's for the gyro's tasted like the supermarket ones and everything was far too oily. Even the yoghurt sauce was tasteless. Add to that abrupt service and it was a totally ruined evening for us. I will admit though, that Salt Lake probably doesn't have any good ethnic restaurants. The greek places we have dines at in other metro cities leave this place far far behind.

The gyros are fantastic. They give you rice, salad, AND fries with fry sauce and it's all wonderful. I've also has the pastitsio and lentil soup, which were also delicious.

Great greek food, fast service.
By ,
Great Greek food! The restaurant is small with 70's style booths but it is incredibly clean and well worth a visit. If you are watching your carbs they offer a carb friendly salad topped with Gyro, chicken or beef kabob meat that will leave any meat eater completely satisfied. It is not uncommon for me to eat there 4 times a week.

There is none better

This place is fabulous! Wonderful souvlaki, dolmathes, and great rice pilaf. They have the best gyros in the state. Inexpensive and large portions. I will keep coming back!

The original and by far the best
By ,
I started eating gyros at the Greek Souvlaki Drive Inn when the place first opened in about 1972. The gyros with red sauce are the greatest. Over the years I have introduced dozens of friends to the place and they have almost all agreed with me that the Greek Souvlaki Drive Inn has the best Greek fast food they've ever tasted.

Everything about it is GREAT!!!!
By ,
As a Greek food lover, although there are several Greek eating places in Salt Lake City I feel this is BY FAR the BEST! Great variety, great serving sizes and great prices! I only wish they'd open a location in the Midvale/Sandy area, although the drive downtown or to their West Valley location is WELL WORTH IT!
