This bistro is located in the Emerson neighborhood, close to the University. The Paris is known for both, its delicious New American cuisine and its wine bar offerings. Admire the mirrors, light yellow walls, dark wood and private booths as you start off with a soup and salad, followed by the Butternut Squash Ravioli or Lasagna alla Napoletana. Choosing between the Duck Confit, Rotisserie Free-Range Chicken and Grilled Australian Rack of Lamb can be toughthey're all delicious! The seafood choices, like Calamars Grilles, Steamed Clams and Mussels Mariniere are not far behind their meaty counterparts. After a feast like that, you are bound to return soon!
If marginally edible food, slow, surly service, and apothetic, arrogant management are your idea of fine dining, then read no further. Run -- don't walk -- to the Paris Bistro.
We recently visited the Paris for a milestone anniversary, and I can honestly say I've never been more disappointed:
1) We waited 30 minutes before our waitress came around to take our orders, another 30 minutes for salads, and nearly an hour for entrees.
2) Two of our three entrees (both risotto dishes) were heavily laden with coarse salt, obviously over-compensating for the total absence of flavor. The pizza got a thumbs-down grade...from a teenager, no less.
3) We asked to speak with the manager to no avail. For the next several days we called and emailed the manager/owner to voice our displeasure, but he never had the courtesy or courage to reply.
Needless to say we won't be coming back, especially with so many other outstanding restaurants in the Valley.
My husband and I went to The Paris for their special Thanksgiving dinner. It was absolutely wonderful! Although we had to wait a little to be seated, the food was absolutely worth the wait. The staff was friendly and helpful and the wine superb. We are going back for our anniversary dinner. I have seen negative reviews of this place, but I won't believe it until I see it for myself. Several people I know frequent this restaurant often and I have never heard a bad thing about it.
