Our all-time favorite! Before our daughter was born, we used to be regulars at this restaurant. We'd go nearly ever Friday for seven years. We still go when we can, but unfortunately it's not as often as I'd like. Their new location is beautiful and the staff is great, many have been there as long as we've been going. They would even have our drinks ready for us the minute we sat down since they knew what we liked! Great, authentic food and one of the few places in the south end of the valley with a good mole. Their prices are very reasonable, their bar is stocked and everything is delicious. Highly recommend you give them a try!
We love this place. We've been coming here for years and it's the only Mexican Restaurant we would visit now.
Love the food, specially their Carne Asada. We order this menu every time for over a year. We desided to try something else and I was NOT desapointed with their food. Service is GREAT, sometimes it could be crowded but they are still freindly. I always recomend this place to friend, I dont have to do it to family anymore due that they are already fanatics.
Best chips, salsa & bean dip! Best Carne Asada Ever!!! If you are looking for the best mexican place to eat I HIGHLY recommend La Costa! We have been coming here for about 3 years now and we love their new location! The service is GREAT! The staff if friendly! Don't waste your money anywhere else.... go to La Costa for sure! The meals are consistent. No matter when you go, at opening, closing, or their busy time you are sure to get a great meal!
And.... I'm a germ-a-phobe and have a hard time eating out and nasty places. La Costa is VERY CLEAN! This is the only place I feel that I don't have to worry when eating out.
La Costa is the best place for superior Mexican food that I have found. Being from Los Angeles, I missed good Mexican food until I found La Costa. The friendly staff is a huge bonus. You have got to try this place.
Our experience started off bad and it got no better.
We went on a Friday evening, so people were waiting to be seated, as one would expect. We were told it would be 15 minutes, but we had to wait about 25 minutes.
That's probably longer that we would have waited had we known the actual time, but what's worse is that there is NO PLACE to sit, or stand, to wait. The facilities are so small and overcrowded that the 20 people waiting to be seated were standing in the aisles and doorway used by the servers and other customers.
Next was more waiting, this time for the server to take our order. Then more waiting for our food order to be served. We watched as some nearby customers were served, ate their food, and left before our order ever came.
Believe me, the food wasn't worth waiting for. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either, just run-of-the-mill. The salsa was pretty good though, but the rest was so-so.
You might defend their poor service by noting it was busy, but that's when you find out a true measure of a restaurant's service. It's easy to have great service when the place isn't all that busy. Another thing about the service was that none of the employees smiled; it as though having customers was an unwanted chore.
I'm sorry, but we won't be back.
