LA Carreta Peruvian Restaurant, Orem

The food is fantastic. I have never eaten anything that tasted so amazing. I had never had peruvian food and the waiter took time to explain and reccomend things I should try. The atmosphere and service blew me away. There is authentic stained glass windows and decorated walls. They had a video of Peru on a plasma flat screen. It was quiet and very enjoyable.

This place was OK. The prices ranged from 9 to about 16. The service was a little slow and I was surprised that I did not see a single hispanic person working there. The food had its highs and lows. The #1 which I ordered had good flavor to it and the salsa is nice and fresh. The lows were the sides which I was not to fond of. Some sort of french fry and also some salad like stuff with a not to appealing taste. I was going into La Carreta and expecting something sensational and instead it was just another South American place to eat.

We use to love this place until we realized the tons of MSG they put in the dishes. I would be very careful when going to this place or drink some herbal tea afterwards.

I lived in peru for a year, and other than my husbands cooking (he´s Peruvian) this restaurant is the best peruvian food we could find and is he a critic! I a big girl and like food and we almost never finish our plates their portions are great! and is the same price or a little less than the other peruvian restaurants. i suggest you sit back in a place that looks like the old wineries of peru and Enjoy!
