From the outside, this cafe is very unassuming. It looks more like a fast-food restaurant than the home of fine Thai food at reasonable prices. However, this place serves delicious, authentic Thai cuisine and is very popular with locals. The food tends to be on the spicy side, so be sure to discuss your preferences with your server. The spicy shrimp in hot chili sauce is a favorite or try a milder chicken or noodle dish.
I went to Thailand in April. One of the best parts of the trip was the food. Since i returned I have been on a quest to find good Pad Thai in Utah. This is my fourth restaurant I had tried and my search is finally over. This is so yummy! I can t wait to go again this week.
Terrible service! We waited forever for a table! The server took forever to take our order. Honestly, the food is VERY tasty. Portion sizes are very stingy! The server never bothered to take drink orders, just assumed water was ok. She never bothered to check on us during the meal, or refill water glasses. Oh, it was good, but the worst service ever. I'm not sure the experience was THAT great to relive.
I love this place, really close to where I live so I can call in a to go order and have it hot (and I mean HOT!) and ready to go.
They give you enough Gan Keow Wan Gai to feed a small horse. More rice would be nice
Prices are a bit higher than I'm used to. But over all a nice little place to pick up your Thai fix :D
I spent time in Thailand a couple of years ago and have ever since needed the right Thai restaurant to fill my curry needs. Mekong is the place. I have been to the other Thai restaurants in town; they are over priced and I do not feel like I am getting a genuine Thai atmosphere or taste. Make sure to try the yellow curry chicken.
For my first ever experience with Thai food, this place is a keeper. The only thing I knew about Thai food was that they cooked with coconut milk. I loved the chicken satay appetizers with peanut sauce (coconut flavored, of course). I also am still craving the prawn skewers with vegetables that I ordered (can't pronounce the actual name). I'm not a curry fan, but the other two in my party ordered chicken and vegetable curry and they loved it. From the outside it's nothing fancy. If I were not meeting someone there the first time I went, it would not be a place I'd drive by and stop at. Appearances are deceiving! I would recommend for the food. The service was pretty fast also. The price was fair for quality food. I'm addicted!
This place is one of the best-kept secrets in the valley for Thai/Asian cuisine. I've never had any thing but excellent food and the staff is very friendly. The ambiance is not upscale but it is always clean and comfortable.
Good, not the best in town- that goes to LemonGrass downtown. But I go to Mekong more often because it is closer. Customer service is ok to poor, the curry dishes are very good. Oh, the addictive cocoanut curry dishes! that's why I go.
