I was on a business trip from California. One of the hotel staff has recommend Mizumi. I went on line to check out the restaurant. As my previous experience of hotel staff has failed me before. All the reviews were impressive. My co-workers and I decided to give it a try. we were first greeted by smiling friendly staff. the place was warm and inviting. we ordered menu items and the server recommended several things. The recommendation was amazing!!!
He said we should try couple of Happy hour items. wow what a deal and wonderful fabulous food. I was impressed by the freshness of the fish... Living in California we get spoiled by fresh fish. There tempura was very good. light and crispy. My co-worker not a sushi fan ordered steak terriyaki. To my amazement it was lean and tender ( it could be sold in a steak house). It's my favorite place to go when I visit Utah..
Mizumi is the best Sushi in Sandy and the most fun for a casual night out with friends. This is definitely a locals place, the chefs are fun and prepare great speciality rolls (try the Ecstasy, it's the best). Lila is always personable and goes out of her way to make sure everyone is having a good time.
Great Food, Great People, This is one of the best in Utah. The restaurant is a bit small, so you can have a pretty long wait if you do do not get their early. They have some of the best speciality rolls I have every had (no matter where you have gone)...My favorate is the Shizen, 2 Nice size friend rice patties, with slices of avacado, and then spicy tuna mix on top of the avacado (Excellent)...Many regulars know the owners by first name and the owners know them as well by first name....This is a LOCALS place....
The sushi was great, but the building is a little run down and has a musty smell. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars except that I was surprised that it is the same price as Happy Sumo and you have to tolerate a limited menu, a less than ideal location, slightly stinky smell, old furniture, and televisions in every view playing the Disney channel.
