Today we ate at Hunters for the first time. It was pretty good.
Great service, super fast waitress, refilled my water glass like 4 times in the hour we were there. The atmosphere is fun with animals all over, looking down on you. I love the music they play there, its quiet, and very nice music, the kind that you would hear on possitve life radio. Not rock or country like you would hear at other stake houses. Prices were pretty good. (average for a steak house) I like the steakat hunters 100X better then the junk you get at Texas road house (I will never ever eat at TRH again) The steak at Hunters was juicy, easy to chew.
when you eat at hunters, you go away with a happy tummy and happy heart. Great for church groups. I just wish it was open more days of the week. We had lunch there, some time I want to go back for dinner.
The food is good and the price is right. What more can you ask for? Oh yes - good service too. I have enjoyed everything I've tried here and so has my husband. We can't wait to go back and try something new.
I will say I don't find the stuffed and mounted animals appealing but that's just me. I don't know what the one guy is talking about with wacko religious propaganda. I'm usually pretty sensitive to that type of thing and I didn't notice it.
The unique atmosphere created by the menagerie of mounted creatures along with the extremely courteous and efficient staff is worth the visit even without the great food. We’ve never had anything served that didn’t rank up there with the best we’ve ever tasted. A special treat is a new item on their menu: yak burger. The yak burger patty is cooked to perfection and garnished with just the ideal condiments to make a delightful sandwich. While all entrees served are delicious, the yak burger is something out of this world. A yak burger at GW Hunters is to die for!! Besides being very tasty, the meat is lower in the undesirable fats so is therefore more healthy than regular hamburger which leaves more room for fries on the side.
The best of traditional western cafes. Where the locals go for a good meal at a reasonable price. Rustic atmosphere, friendly staff, large portions of grub that won't disappoint. If you are visiting North Idaho, don't miss GW Hunters.
My wife and I took our son and daughter-in-law to your restaurant and were totally impressed with the quality of food and the ambiance of your place. I ordered the NY steak and it was one of the most tender and delectable steaks I have eaten in years. The wall mountings were fantastic and the service was wonderful. We loved it so much we are taking my cousins there for dinner tonight. Also, we're definitely going to go back for their Saturday morning breakfast. Thanks for such a fabulous dining experience. Sincerely, David Ainley
