Love This Elmers. I go there weekly. Love that I can actually hear the people at my table unlike other places where the music and crowd is so loud you can't hear the person next to you. The potroast is amazing and falls apart at the touch of the fork. They also have a menu that changes with the seasons along with a daily changing soup. Another major plus is this is one of the only places in the area with ALL YOU CAN EAT soup and salad bar AMAZING. I really enjoy the breakfasts that are served all day but The dinners are a must!! Also is locally owned which is a major plus!!
We tried eating here back in 05 or 06 and experienced bad food and a dreary overall feel. I had to return about 2 months later because of a work function and still the same. On a whim and coupon we tried it again in Feb of 09. A totally different restaurant. Not sure if they had been remodeled or just installed brighter lighting but the look and ambience had drastically improved. The entry and dining areas were tidy and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I agree with Robb's review as it's not the fanciest place but the food is decent (it even looks like the picture in the menu when it arrives). Next to the CDA Resort ($$$) they probably have the best salad bar as far as variety in the area. We have tried several times since and they have stayed consistent.
Honestly, I don't know why more people don't eat here. Not that I am complaining, as we can always get a seat right away. The food is good, not great, and the service is friendly. Sure, this is not the fanciest place in the world, but the food is good and you will get in and out at your own pace. If you are traveling (I am in sales), this is a good place to stop. Prices are fair.
