I went on 2/8/13 and it was the worst buffet I have EVER had. The fried food was very greasy, with puddles of grease on and under each item. The clever re-use of unsold buffet items as different, less palatable items were obvious and absolutely disgusting. I am not a picky eater, and I had to spit things out into my napkin several times. I left hungry and nauseous.
I have been to many chinese buffetsand i will always take Top Of China. Never leave hungry and the food is always fresh. Wait staff is very pleasent. Wish we had one here closer,i travel almost 2 hrs. to eat there.
I went to Top of China Buffet on Dec. 5, 2011. I have eaten Top of China Buffet many times and used to love it. But, there are enough times where the food is room temperature and not fresh. They aren't putting out fresh food as often as they should. Besides that, for dessert I got a small amount of ice cream and cherry and apple pie. My apple pie had a blond hair in it that I had to pull out of my mouth and I showed it to the waitress and she took the hair and told me that she would show it to her boss. The cook comes over and tells me that it isn't their hair because their hair is black and he touches his own hair to show me. I told him that I know that and that doesn't matter, it's hair and it's in their food. They gave me $4.20 off my meal. I should've had a free meal. On top of that I woke up very early this morning with a horrible stomach ache, a very strong urge to throw up and my body was all tingly and cold. I have food poisoning. I have been experiencing the effects of it all day. Never will I ever set foot in Top of China Buffet again. They are good at filling drinks, but you can never understand them. I could barely understand the cook and he didn't seem to understand me at all.
as far as chinese buffet restaurants i have been to, it was pretty decent, but nothing special. good sized selection and most of the food looked to be relatively fresh. pretty nice inside and very reasonably priced though.
While vacationing in North Idaho my wife decided she wanted Chinese for dinner. She googled some spots and read reviews. And she decided on the Top of China Buffet, despite some bad reviews. When we pulled up I was a little hesitant as the outside didn't have a whole lot of curb appeal. I was completely wrong. The food was amazing. It was the largest selection of dishes I have ever seen at a buffet. The food was piping hot and tasted great. The servers were prompt and polite. I would defiantly eat here again, and again. I would suggest to anyone to try it.
Top of China Buffet is one of the best buffet's I have ever eaten at. I travel a lot and always plan on stopping there to eat when I head through northern Idaho. I have mentioned this restaurant to a lot of friends and they think it is great. I have never heard a negative comment. These negative comments on this board must be from the competition.
Well, it was ok, nothting fantastic but not bad. Our server couldnt understand us well. It is cleaner than the other China buffets ive been to. i did like the lemon chicken, kind of like orange chicken but better. Overall it was ok.
I dont even know why i wasted my money at this place. potatoes looked instant, nonetheless 12 hours old, everything looked 12 hours old, i was very dissappointed as i took my date to this restaurant, i was embarrassed for the employees that had to watch us eat that old disgusting food. n e wayz i had to get this out there maybe they will swap there old gross food out with fresh food more often than not, i would definetely recommend the chinese food place across the street. i wish there was a way that i could get around even giving them one star for the rating
