Bardenay, Boise

So here it goes Im not one to post bad things. I love the bar de nay downtown boise. It is (was) the only restaurant that I go to and refer people to; A lot of people considering I work at a local hotel and we probably spend over 200 dollars a month in there. A couple days ago we ordered chips and salsa. In the top layer of the chips was a cochroach. I picked it up and went to dip it in my salsa! There were families around so I didnt want to make a scene. While I was waiting for the server to come over to tell him. The table next to me had chips and salsa brought to them. After I told the waiter he took them and apologized and only comped the chips and salsa and one drink we had three drinks and chips and salsa. He didnt bother taking away the other chips from the next table. Where there is one cochroach there are friends. I tried to call the manager the next day and the calls were avoided otherwise I wouldnt post this. I just wanted to make sure they threw out the chips and put new ones. I will never eat there again I cant after that. I can understand a hair but a cochroach is just sickening. More should have been done than just a sorry about that and a comped drink obviously we couldnt eat our appetizer!!!! I should have said the word cochroach so everyone could here maybe then the manager would have came out.!!!!!!

I'm torn between giving Bardenay five stars (they did a great job hosting my brother's wedding) or three stars (as my breakfast the following day was less-than-stellar). I do love the decor and the fact that they distill their own spirits is an A+ in my book. The staff was very friendly, even by Boise standards, but I got to say, my eggs benedict (vegetarian style) were cold...cold and runny at that. I'm thinking that maybe because I had to "special order" that my dish might have been better. I'll stick with the menu next time and let you know.

I am a regular! I can't get enough of their food and love their cocktails. Great beer and wine selection. The service is always exceptional and the outdoor patio has beautiful flowers in the summer time!

Loved this restaurant. Located on a small lake, it is a wonderful place to hang out in the summer and drink martini's from ice blocks. In the winter is is just as breathtaking with a winter view. The food was amazing. The presentation of the kabobs on these ornate wrought iron plates was stunning. I must recommend the salmon, to die for.

They have a great variety of delicious salads. My favorite is the grilled shrimp salad. Service however is sometimes slow. Allowing smoking on the patio is annoying.

Best food in Boise at an affordable price! The best entree is the Salmon on a bed of Fettuccine Alfredo! The salmon is cooked to perfection and the pasta is very rich. Its seems to be very rare to find good food, good service and even more amazing its affordable! The salmon dish I mentioned above is only in the $12 dollar range.

The Bardenay has a great lay-out so you can see and be seen. The wide variety of food was very good for the price and the service was outstanding! The servers honestly seemed to enjoy working there and that is not the

Where else can you see the gin being distilled for the Martini you are drinking? This place would just be an outstanding bar if the food wasn't so good, and it would just be an outstanding restaurant if the cocktails weren't so yummy, but it is BOTH!

They don't miss much. Fantastic cocktails to start, frendly and efficient service. So many items on the menu that can be enjoyed over and over again. A great value for what you get! The house specialties are ever changing and well worth the risk. They all seem to know what they're doing and if you act like it's you're place and relax...you might not leave willingly.

I love everything! The martinis are unbelievable and the food...oh how I love the food!! It is a kid "friendly" place before 9pm, however, I recommend an evening out with your friends.
