Proud Cut Saloon, Cody

We stop every September and spend a few days in Cody - We wouldn't go without enjoying the Proud Cut - So good you talk about when your back home and recommend it to friends !!

We went to the PROUD CUT SALOON. The food was the best ever!!! Your cook ROCK was excellent. We even went back to tell him how GREAT our food was, and he was very humble and nice. Best food ever, he has a gift!! Give him a raise, you would not want to loose him... THANK YOU FOR A GREAT MEAL, AND THERE WERE 10 OF US. Hard to please that many people but he did!!!

This steak house has a great atmosphere, along with good food and fine staff.The steak sandwich and broccoli salad are great for those of you that have not tried it.I certainly recommend it. You will be completely satisfied.

I came to The Proud Cut restaurant several weeks ago and had a great experience. The food server was Lisa and she was absolutely wonderful. She was smart, happy, considerate and just delightful. She was so efficient and was such a hard worker. You were quite busy and she made us feel like a priority. I was disappointed when I found out that your servers share tips. I was hoping she would get the entire amount I tipped as she deserved it. Janet Jewett Colorado.

We have eaten there 3 times in the last 8 years ( we are from WI ) We ate there on May 27, 2009 for a late afternoon lunch - the hamburgers were fanatastic ( done to our liking and juicy ), the onion rings and salads were excellent! Can't wait to visit again.

worst palce i ever ate at along with the other rib place..... never go back... bad service never had such a bad rib eye in my life.....

This is a rewrite of a review I wrote in 2005 here where I said this was the best restaurant in Cody. Well...I have lunched there many times since then and must say I have had very mixed experiences, ranging from great to awful. The last time two weeks ago I went to lunch with my daughter and a friend. The french onion soup was not hot (it is usually my favorite thing) and waaaaaay too salty - to the point of being inedible. Chicken salad had dry overcooked chicken and stale chow mein noodles in it and my friend ordered a well done burger that was pretty much raw inside. On the other hand I have had meals here that were heavenly. Have had great service at times and rude or indifferent service other times. I guess you take your chances because when it is good it is very very good! I will eat there again but wish they were more consistent.

There is no place better in the Big Horn Basin for steaks and burgers. Great atmosphere (cowboy up and hunting theme), cold beer, friendly staff and great food! It simply does not get any better! Del & Becky have done it right...it is "the spot" to go when you are in Cody. CJ from Safari.
