Matsuhisa, Aspen

I'm amazed to see a couple negative reviews for this place! It is without a doubt one of the top 5 sushi restaurants in the country. I've eaten sushi around the world, and this is right up there. I live in Aspen and I can tell you it's not easy to find consistently good meals - some of the top places have their off nights - but I have never had a less than excellent meal here! (Perhaps that's why during peak season you have to call a month in advance for a booking....year after year?)

Very average dining experience, a bit of a let down for the price. I think they dropped the ball with quality relying on the reputation.

A restaurant that will let you in in animal print bathrobes? Happily let you get drunk on $100 servings of sake in fresh cut bamboo stalks? Delicious food? What's not to like? Oh...the $1000 check that came at the end of this rendezvous. Fortunately, I wasn't paying!

excellent Nobu Matsuhisa style cooked food. Sushi is not the best in town, but still good.

Get someone else to take you, as you won't want to pay the bill.

Best Japanese Restaurant in the State -- hands down. The room is beautiful but way too crowded. My high school cafeteria had more elbow room.
