Boogies Retail Main

Description

This novelty restaurant, which looks like something from the Eisenhower administration, is named after owner "Boogie" Weinglass, who was portrayed by Mickey Rourke in the film Diner . Old photographs and the obligatory Elvis Presley mementos line the walls. It is popular with tourists and is very kid friendly. If you are curious to know what a USD9 burger looks like, order the Boogie Burger. Instead of a beef patty, it is a beef edifice, which weighs one whopping pound. For something lighter, opt for the Ahi sandwich or the Chicken Parmesan. The restaurant opens daily at 10:30a.

The jean brands are great but the service by the women working here on comparing is awful! They harassed me the entire time shopping, insulted my mothers jeans telling her she needed to "buy a new pair," stood outside the dressing room talking really loudly in Spanish while I was trying on jeans (they were tying on the new items of clothing they had in the store while they should've been working) and then wanted the commission on my purchase! Horrible! I have bought several pairs of jeans here over the years and I will never shop here again!

They really do have great jeans, but the sales people are too motivated by commissions to always give you an honest answer. It could be a great store, but the owner, unfortunately does not understand the current retail environment.

Good burgers and comfort food. Very good chocolate cake, carrot cake and blueberry pie. Reasonably priced for Aspen, especially compared to the $220 t-shirts downstairs.

A group of us had lunch at Boogie's this week. The food was terrible. No flavor and uniformly overcooked. Go here if you want to get a cool tee shirt or hat downstairs, but forget about the food if its anything beyond a milkshake.

Good food/selection, not too expensive (by Apsen standards), great American diner food. GREAT milkshakes and desserts, so save some room. Also, like most places in Aspen, you don't have to dress up to eat there. Very casual. If you're a Boomer, you'll find it "nostalgic".

Boogie's Diner
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/08
Ordinarily I wouldn't post about a diner, but Boogie's is no ordinary diner. On its logo is written, "Jeans, Feets, Eats." Where else could you drop $450 on a pair of woman's boots while waiting to be seated or buy other high-end shoes for both men & women? They stock all brands of jeans too from Versace, Ralph Lauren to other names unfamiliar to me. And at what other diner would you find as many designated heart healthy choices as regular diner fare? We had lunch at Boogie's, and who should be seated near us? Bill Clinton! The Ex-Pres., in town for the second time in 2 weeks., had lunch with a group of children and a man & woman, possibly parents of some of them. Nearby were tables filled by, I'm sure, secret service agents. After his lunch, Clinton happily posed for pictures with the waiters, busboys & any fellow staff & diners who felt like getting into the picture. All were assured they'd receive copies. Lunch fare was no better/no worse than in any other diner, but the ambiance, now that's another thing entirely.
