We went to Francisco's for a business dinner. The wait staff was completely unresponsive to the needs of our group; at one point, the waiter was more interested in watching TV as he was standing 2 feet from our table while holding our food. The food was greasy, tasteless, and totally unappealing. The specials seem to include the food that they are trying to get rid of before it goes bad. I will never go back.
If you go to Durango, you must visit this place. It is a historic restaurant that has an amazing atmosphere. The food is very authentic mexican, not Texas mexican and the seafood and steaks are the best we'd had anywhere. The sauces that go along with the steaks are particularly impressive. We visited with 5 people and each person's entree was amazing. We initially went for dinner, but went back for lunch the next day adn it was equally delightful. If you REALLY want to get a taste of Durango, this is the place to go. It is warm, inviting and the food is excellent. Don't miss out. We'll certainly go back if we visit Durango again.
Will NOT go back! We went to Franciscos a few weeks ago and although the food was pretty good we were shocked at the waitress' behavior....the next day when we checked our on-line banking we saw that the waitress had ran her tip for four dollars more than we had written down. We spoke with the manager who reversed the charge, but the fact of the matter is that her action was not only illegal but very rude!
This place is great! You can't go to Durango without stopping by this historical establishment. The food is fantastic, the margaritas are incredible. A trip to Durango just wouldn't be complete with out stopping here.
Doesn't know true Mexican food or at least not good Tex-Mex. I have eaten there twice and both times have been disappointed in the food. It DOES have a nice atmosphere though, service is efficient and it is a good place to take kids.
I don't know what has changed at this place, because it used to be good. Now the food is awful. Steaks were poor quality and overcooked. Mexican food was mush. Also, the worst thing was the pompous attitude of a short, balding host who claime to be the owner. He was rude and made it seem like he was doing us a favor to even allow us in to eat. We won't be back.
