Dos Hombres of Coronado
Gloria Howard, along with sons, Spike and Scott, opened the original Dos Hombres April 1, 1977 at 2516 Broadway in Grand Junction, Colorado. More than 30 years later the goal is the same: to serve fine Sonoran-style Mexican food to the residents and visitors of the Grand Valley. We prepare our food fresh daily, using the finest and freshest ingredients available.
If you want authentic tasting Mexican Food, please DO NOT GO TO DOS HOMBRES, frankly it stinks!
Overpriced, lousy service, terrible Mexican food = Dos Hombres
Try Fiesta Guadalajara or Tequila's for authentic, good Mexican food!
The Clifton Dos Hombres is much different from the Redlands Dos Hombres. When I want salsa or tacos, the Redlands restaurant is the place to go. But when I want a burrito, Clifton does them right. My favorite is the ground beef/black bean Dos Hombres burrito with the vegetarian green chile. The chile is nice and hot, just the way I like it. The posole is fantastic as a side-dish.
The ambiance leaves something to be desired. One room is loud and open, and if you sit in the middle, you feel stared at. Another room is by the bussing room, so that isn't very romantic. The third room is all the way in the back. They do have TV's in the set-apart rooms for those who can't bear to be away from the football game.
This is a good once-in-a-while restaurant when you're in the mood for something different.
The Clifton location is much better than Redlands...Better salsa, blended, and real raspberry iced tea. Better food, cleaner...
The only thing that needs improving is the eating utensils, they are way worn out- I can bend them with my pinky!
