Best mexican food in Chaffee county! Plus it's so clean and the atmosphere is great. Wait staff is so courteous and prompt and I love that they are so well groomed with nicely pressed uniforms. You just don't see that much anymore. Keep up the great work!
My husband and I have eaten at Fiesta Mexicana in Salida several times, in Durango CO, Show Low AZ and Woodland Park CO. We have never been disappointed. The food is good, not so hot spicy that it burns your mouth like many Mexican food restaurants, good price and plenty of food. We stop at Salida often as we can when traveling through. People who are complaining are just trying to drum up business for the lesser known bar type restaurants.
I had gone there acouple times like 3 years ago, back then I would have had to say that I did not like the food or the people there. But I went again just this last December, and I loved everything there. The people were very nice (even when I didnt pronounce what I wanted right, I made a joke about my pronounciation and made the waitress laugh), the food was great and I will deffinetly go back again sooner than 3 years...
I like this restaurant and visit it every time I come to Salida. I have eaten at many exciting restaurants in the U.S. and in Europe; this one may be a member of a chain, but the complaints about it baffle me. It is colorful, with a polite efficent waitstaff and first-rate Mexican-American cuisine. I think some people, especially the ones who don't get around much, massage their egos by complaining about the restaurants they visit.
I have always enjoyed Fiesta Mexicana in Salida. However, I recently went to the Pacheco's in Buena Vista, Co., On my anniversary. My husband and I were shocked at the server/manager Peter and his equally flustered girlfriend/ server, Mary. He explained in a very irritated tone that it was St. Patricks Day and he had(stupidly of course) cut his kitchen an hour ago and he was pissed that he had to accomodate all of the people flowing into the restaurant that he was managing. It was 7:00 O'clock! I was really put off by his rudeness at the hostess counter, and even then more horrified when he disrespected a table of 4 elderly people out to enjoy St. Patty's together. As we were seated, this Peter person then proceeded into the kitchen only to bark/scream at his kitchen staff and pummel what sounded like stainless steel something. On that note, being very privvy to all that is the restaurant business, I instructed my husband that I would not put up with this atrocious lack of hospitality on our anniversary. We then headed to one of the only restaurants in town open. Jan's diner. Needless to say I had planned for a romantic dinner somewhere else, Jan's provided the happy, loving atmosphere I desired on my 4th wedding anniversary. Mr. Fiesta Mexicana needs to rethink his staff in Buena Vista at Pacheco's. They are apt to bring that restaurant to the ground now that one of the best chefs in that valley was jaded. Sorry for you Mr.I think I have all my ducks in a row..... I think it is in your best interest to get rid of party-heads unwilling to give the best help possible to deserving Buena Vista patrons. Sometime having lots of restaurants and not enough good people to run them can be a downfall. By the way, All of your so called chefs booze it up all night back in that kitchen. Not to mention those silly crack-heads, Peter and Mary. Where was Paul when one neede him? Hmmmm?
me and friend ate there couple of times it wasn't what i thought it would be any way i haven't been back since we went there couple of times and wasn't that good at all any way! the prices was little to high for us at the time any way! from jeannie leadville
My husband and I were passing through Salida recently and decided to stop in for dinner. We're very glad we did, and were so happy with the experience we asked where the nearest one to Colorado Springs was located. There's one in Woodland Park, and we plan to go!
If you want to go to a Mexican restaurant where it is authentic. Good food,
good atmosphere, good Mexican music, and the prices are reasonable. The staff even speak broken English!!- A good place to go if you want to brush up on your Spanish. I just can't say enough...Also, the service is exceptional! It is my choice to go out to eat!!!!
