Worst Mexican food ever! Gross sauces, taco meat, chili rellenos! The chicken in the chicken enchilada looked like processed soy and tasted like rotten cheese. When the waitress noticed we had only taken one bit off each item on our plates she told us she could take a little off the bill So we asked for the manager...had to wait at least 10 mins, when he came to the table he seemed amazed that we were unhappy Wow we have never had a complaint before...you must have been expecting different Mexican food Yeah buddy the real kind! From reading the other reviews I know they have had a complaint before. DON T EAT HERE there is plenty of great restaurants in Buena Vista

One of our favorites! Menu is simple and food is very good. Been eating here since 1997. Last visited in August of 2008. A bit disapointed with our last visits, though.. Have downgraded my rating to a 3 star from 4 star previously. Portions are much smaller than they used to be. I'm used to getting a plate with a bit more than I can eat from other restaurants - and maybe taking a bit home. Not so here - at least anymore. From their famous meatball soup, their tiny teaser salad, to their food portions - all noticeably small - sort of like they were planned by someone on a diet. From the menu prices the small portions do not appear to be motivated to save money. However, the food is still very good. Wish they had home made tortilla chips instead of store bought. Service was also very slow on our last 2 visits. We will return. Maybe it'll change for the better. .

Weird Mexican restaurant. The locals told us they didn't like it. We should have listened. Food was mediocre and the atmosphere was so boring that I thought I might take a nap right there. There is nothing authentic about this place. Go down the street to La Girasoles for decent Mexican food.

My dining experiences at Casa del Sol Restaurant have always been excellent. Indeed if you want to escape to a serene place and enjoy great food, try Casa del Sol in Buena Vista, Colorado. As soon as you go in, you feel surrounded by soft guitar music, lovely Mexican artifacts, and a warm atmosphere. You may want to try the patio with the waterfountain, away from noise and traffic. I have had several great meals there. You can try the chile relleno, baked to perfection, or the sea food enchilada, or their famous pechuga suiza. On another note, you may want to go for their French onion soup and their flan. Scrumptious. Worth going back several times in this area.

Wow! My wife and I ate at Casa Del Sol on our way thru town. The food was beyond bad! It was discusting! Somewhere along the line, someone told these people they could cook Mexican food but trust me, they can't! I should have went with my gut instinct when they brought the chips and salsa out. The chips were straight out of a tostitos chip bag, I'm sure. The meal came with soup and salad. Nice touch, I thought. The soop was meatball soup. It was a bowl of broth with one small meatball sitting at the bottom. Horrible presentation. The saled was served a a cup saucer sized plate with a pinch of salad on it. Why bother. We hoped that the main dishes would "Save the evening". My wife had to spit the enchiladas into her napkin. The red chili sauce that they covered it all with tasted like mud, at least that was my opinion. My wife said that it tasted like the Rodeo...??? When I questioned her, she said it tasted like the rodeo smells. Like poop. It was BAD! The white mushy stuff inside of the chicken enchilada was...strange. I'm not sure what it was. The chili reno was not much better as it had the same sauce on it. The taco was served so soaked in grease, I had to cut it with my fork to get the meat out as the shell fell apart. As I sat there, I looked at the food runs on the wall next to me. Not clean at all. I watched thru the open window into the kichen and watched the cook (guy wil very long hair pulled back) keep wiping his nose and touching his face while he cooked. Needles to say, with all of this and the discusting food, we ate very little of our food! The best part of the entire meal was the Coke.
